I just realised that Démare's victory yesterday may cost Groupama the overall win because Küng would have gotten the four bonus seconds for a third place if Démare hadn't sprinted. Hard to predict, though.

OTOH, if Demare wins today and Lampaert doesn't come top-3, Groupama get the overall win anyway.

That's true, and admittedly, I hadn't thought of that. Now he ended up not winning the stage and neither of them managed to overtake Lampaert on GC.

And another reason that Démare shouldn't have participated in the sprint yesterday is that it was detrimental to my CQ team ;)

Happy that this race has made another step to become a nice 4/5 stage week event with some WT teams, the big step would be TV coverage and nice helicopter shots. As long as JANOM stays as Quick Step sponsor we have their participation guaranteed and also Bora. From seeing images we have public interest in this event with big crowds at the end of stages, also some supporting activities. We now need to see this as a priority to become one of our annual sporting events. This calendar date is also good and the weather is most stable in September generally. Next year the worlds are in Switzerlad in hilly terrain, can we make this race a Dauphine before the Tour? Eurosport asked for 600 000k apparently to have this on TV, probably too steep for 2.1 event
