Wow! Just a month ago Ewen said he was going to wait another year before going pro. It would be interesting to find out what caused the change. Hopefully he'll have some good mentors in McEwen and Lancaster. The Eggman said:Big signing.

Good! Caleb Ewen looks to be on another level to most of his peers, would be a massive disappointment if he was burnt out due to poor management.LaFlorecita said:Yup really surprising!
Edit: ah never mind just read shalgo's post![]()
shalgo said:According to the cyclingnews article, he will start riding for Greenedge only in August 2014 as a stagiaire, so in effect he is waiting another year.
Dazed and Confused said:yea, still better lock the boy down before he becomes too hot to handle. And Goss? Well, maybe he will move to OPQS in '15 when Inhale-Jet retires.

a little surprise to see Travis Meyer leaving for Drapacbriztoon said:So who has GreenEdge gained and lost?
In:
Mathew Hayman - Classics rider
Ivan Santaromita - Hilly stage hunter?
Johan Esteban Chaves - Hilly stage hunter
Damien Howson - neo pro - Time Trial
Simon Yates - neo pro
Adam Yates - neo pro
Caleb Ewan - stagiaire/sprinter
Out:
Stuart O’Grady - retired, then broke many Aussies hearts
Fumiyuki Beppu - Trek
Sebastian Langeveld - Garmin Sharp
Daniel Teklehaimanot -MTN-Qhubeka
Allan Davis
Wesley Sulzberger
Thomas Vaitkus
Travis Meyer - Drapac
Well, some people tried to suggest Danielson was goiing to retire after 2014, apparently, there wasn't much in it.pastronef said:Tommy D has a contract with Garmin until 2015
tom danielson @tomdanielson 18h
@ammattipyoraily yes. And 2015.
Anderis said:I think 2013 was his best season since he joined Garmin. It's a pity he rode Giro, that compromised his season a bit, and then he had a knee injury during TdF.
Still prenty of strong showings including Catalunya, Romandie, Utah and US Pro Challenge.
Would be great if he can maintain this kind of performance for 2014. He will be very much needed in GTs to support Martin, Talansky and Hejsedal (not all of them perhaps). Perhaps should get a chance to lead some one-week races. He finished no lower, than 11th, in all of 5 one-week races he participated this season.

Most of the HTC guys have continued at roughly the same level (Greipel's train guys, Monfort, Rogers) or continued to develop (van Garderen), so it's weird that some of the seemingly most promising riders (Velits, Löfkvist, Goss) have tailed off since leaving, and others like Boasson Hagen have not progressed as had been anticipated.
movingtarget said:EBH has been disappointing as has Goss. MSR 2012 was a long time ago and Velits just has not improved as I thought he would. Looks like he will be a domestique for TJVG next season or Evans who used to say good things about Velits. Maybe his opinion convinced BMC to pick up Velits.
