Latests from Beppe "the man" Conti:

-Alonso wants Indurain as a PR also cause he already got into his radar his son
-Bettini got a list of 44 riders who will be without contract in 2015 and gonna pick from there
-Alonso still thinking he'd like to have Contador in his team (although him being still under contract)
-Kittel rumored to be ****ed off not being part of Milano-Sanremo team and he'd like to change team; he could be part of Alonso's team with a contract of 1 million
-Team Sky already chasing Kwiatoski for replace Henao

Kittel is only on 1 mil contract ?

Would be good for Kwiat to go to Sky, OPQS are not exactly focused on supporting GC riders. That if he wants to go that route ...

Kwiatkowski to SKY? Please NO! We dont need another EBH wasted talent at SKY working for Froome and being a domestique.

better for him to lead Cav trains huh ? while having nobody to support him when road goes little up.

Getting dropped in Tirreno stage 6 on a small hill far from the finish sure doesn't help him build a case

his problem is eh casn't handle the distance in the classics and that will never change. tour of flanders and msr last year were most perfect example.s he was in great positions as a leader and he failed hard to follow in the final

Well he was second in Worlds 2012 on 267k's so he has at least showed once that he can handle 250+ kms well. Last year his form was simply wasn't there for the spring classics. But if he fails to deliver again for this Classics campaign I think he needs to shift focus.

I was talking about classics. worlds is something different in which the most fresh rider usually ends up in front. he has excuses for every year but the fact is he can't handle the distance. he doesn't have the engine. he will be a strong helper if motivated. nothing more

Both Kittel and Kwiatkowski are still under contract for next year, I believe. Also, I don't think Kittel thought he'd appear on the MSR roster, and why would he if you've seen how he handled the one climb on the last Tirreno sprint stage.

Anyone know the contract status of Talansky or Dombrowski? I ask because I would love to see either end up with Trek as a GC guy.

I make no bones that I am a Trek guy and want them to rule the world!!!!!!

Not sure of their contract status, but I don't see either leaving their current teams any time soon.

That sound an awful lot like backtracking on this statement "the freshest riders dominate the late seaosn".

Which riders dominated last late season?

Purito
Valverde
Nibali

Clearly they were also the freshest riders, no?

I can't see Talansky moving unless he gets offered silly money. He's not going to get the same leadership position anywhere else where he will get a similarly strong support team.

That would change if he shows a big step up this year, so that more other teams would offer full leadership. But as it is, even assuming a normal year on year improvement, I just can't see anyone being willing to offer him a better situation from a racing point of view. Garmin have a strong support squad but just two other GC leaders, and Talansky seems to get equal billing already.

It's hard to say anything about Dombrowski as he went AWOL last year. That's no big deal for a neo pro, and particularly not one on Sky, but we will have a clearer idea what his options are in a few months time.

Kwiatkowski is under contract for 2015 and in theory so is Kittel but don't that team need to secure sponsorship for next year? Pretty sure Giant only stepped in to cover 2014.

Dombrowski is out of contract. I think there's every chance he leaves Sky. Not sure about Talansky (poster above says he's out of contract).

Thanks for the replys. Yeah not sure either would leave, but being a Trek guy, and an American, I would like to see one of or both (HA!) jump ship. Wishful thinking I know, but I guy can dream right?

I just have so little confidence in Andy, and Frank is no spring chicken.

depending on their general level yes. that's what I mean all along./ if a veyr good rider is fresh he becomes great or more than that and a great rider who isn't fresh becomers very good or less. see gilbert in 2011 late seaosn too

Do you agree that the five riders dominating the late season last year was Valverde, Purito, Horner, Nibali & Costa? If not, which five riders do you think dominated the late season last year?

Giant signed for four years.
