There are certainly more transfers in recent years compared to 2004 + 2005. Almost double the amount of 50km+ transfers compared to 2004.

Also this year there have been quite a few very long transfers with a stage the day after. 5 days over 150km.

what also is an important issue is how the riders are transfered long in bus or a short flight or even speed train I guess

By their team bus I would guess. Obviously not when they started in Sardinia in '07, and when they went to the mainland after the rest day, or last year when they started in Holland
