Hey.

I'm looking for two sources which can tell me something about the history of cycling. I want to see how the cycling has changed through the last mby 50 years or smth. As we see know, the sport is more or less a "sport of stars" - dorminated by money and power.

I want to see if it has always been like that.

Furthermore, I'm looking for a place where I can find some info about the development of the use of doping. It hasn't always been this necessary to hide it like this - new methods are developed and so on.

Thanks in advance!

You are talking of Pro Cycling
I think it was slightly over 50 years ago but the tour was run with national teams. That would change anything I dont know.
In the 1960's the peace race was not alowed to offer prize money instead the had expencive prizes (cameras etc) to comply with comunist rule.

There are many books on the history of cycling, racing in particular, especially the TDF. A number of books have also been published specifically about drugs in cycling. Try your local library and/or search Barns and Noble sports for "cycling history" and "cycling drugs". Try searching online for the same. There's always WikiPedia.
