I don't care who wins I'm just in awe of that 4th Kilometer. My vision doesn't even clear for 5 minutes after a motorpace version of that.
I am disappointed G wont be riding in Copenhagen at Ballerup.

But really keen to see what Phinney will put out. I think he will be 4'13" or lower, depending on the track. I hope for a fast track. Would not put out of reach Boardman's illegal WR.

Phinney and the Aus teams pursuit, are the highlights for me.

if phinney keeps dabbling into road racing with more and more ambitious goals he may lose his edge on track. his age is also a poor predictor of where he'll be in several years. 4000k is a vo2 max dominated event. it does not necessarily increase with maturation from 19 onward.

What do you make of Spartacus' comments in his interview?

""I've got the determination to go for it (the hour record) but I won’t be trying this year. While we're talking about the track, I have to say that I don’t understand the decision to get rid of the individual pursuit from the Olympic programme. I'd planned to ride in London 2012."

Why drop the IP for teams? I mean Spartacus will never get a team together, and him going for the IP could have really generated interest in the event, maybe got some of the other TT/Prologuers interested, considering they can combine IP/TT better than TT/RR as they are more likely to place high in the TT/IP combo than the RR?

Good observation. On the other hand it is a natural progression to expand to the road. Training for the track is mind-numbingly boring; even if you win.

You bought an iPhone and love all its features, but wish you didn't have to pay for your songs twice to get a ringtone. (We know that iPhone, iPhone 3G Ringtones use the file extension .M4R. And the users must pay $2 for a piece of song through Apple iTunes store). There are plenty of songs in your music library, but no way to make ringtones from any of them. Rihgt?

Actually, with a little bit of trickery (nothing illegal) you can create ringtones from any one of your non-DRM songs.

This works on both Mac and Windows PCs.

Window Users
You can create free iPhone Ringtones by yourself with Aiseesoft iPhone Ringtone Maker.

You can take the following step-by-step instructions to start.

Step 0: Download and install Aiseesoft iPhone Ringtone Maker. After a short while, you can see the following interface:

iphone-ringtone-maker.jpg

Step 1: Click “Browse” on the right side of "Input File" to import the file that you want to make ringtone from it.
Step 2: Play it and listen the music to find the segment that you want to use it as ringtone. Then drag and click the start & end slider to set your wanted segment, or type the start & end time in the corresponding text box directly to get the exact segment. You also can pre-listen the converted audio before generate.
Step 3: Click “Browse” on the right side of "Local Output Folder" to choose the output destination.
Step 4: Check "Export to iPhone" option, the converted ringtone will be load to your iPhone directly.
Step 5: After all the settings are finished, click “Generate” to begin making your own iPhone ringtone.

Key function
● Convert any video to iPhone ringtone M4R
● Create iPhone ringtone from any audio files
● Get any clips from video and audio
Edit Added iPhone ringtones

Actually, I would have nixed the road race before this. I think having the pros ride a RR has gotten a little bit away from the Olympic spirit. The first few years they did it, it was cool to see. But now, it's like another pro race. Sort of like having NBA or Soccer players in the Olympics. It just doesn't belong. If the Olympics are to keep the road race, I'd recommend it's an U23 race.

Stupid to eliminate the kilo, even stupider to eliminate the pursuit.

Totally agree Alpe..I felt the same way in the winter games watching the pro hockey players...just never seems right. A U23 RR would be very much in the spirit of the olympics. As for the persuit and kilo??? Can't believe they have been removed!

And after all the hype over Bobridge, due to his Australian Championships time in favourable conditions ... he has failed to qualify for the final.

Sergent 4:15.988
Phinney 4:16.102
Bobridge 4:17.169
