So Rodriguez is now World Number 1. I am not usually a fan of World Tour rankings, but they seem to be a decent reflection of riders' performances this season.
*Joaquim Rodríguez*(ESP) 404
*Tom Boonen*(BEL) 366
*Vincenzo Nibali*(ITA) 272
*Samuel Sánchez*(ESP) 252
*Peter Sagan*(SVK) 229
*Bradley Wiggins*(GBR) 224
*Simon Gerrans*(AUS) 210
*Ryder Hesjedal*(CAN) 197
*Damiano Cunego*(ITA) 184
*Óscar Freire*(ESP) 180
*Michele Scarponi*(ITA) 174
*Michael Albasini*(SUI) 172
*Alejandro Valverde*(ESP) 167
*Alessandro Ballan*(ITA) 166
*Enrico Gasparotto*(ITA) 150
*Roman Kreuziger*(CZE) 149
*Bauke Mollema*(NED) 132
*Daniel Martin*(IRL) 132
*Thomas De Gendt*(BEL) 126
*Rigoberto Urán*(COL) 125
I do think that the team rankings rarely lie. BMC, Radioshack, Rabobank and Lotto-Belisol have had disappointing seasons, but AG2r, FDJ and Saxo Bank have had horrendous seasons. OPQS have probably been team of the season, so their WT ranking of 4th does scant justice to them. Greenedge, Astana and Katusha have all had their big guns firing, too. Interesting fact....Bauke Mollema has more WT points than Saxo Bank and FDJ combined.
