UCI World Rankings

So Rodriguez is now World Number 1. I am not usually a fan of World Tour rankings, but they seem to be a decent reflection of riders' performances this season.

1 *Joaquim Rodríguez*(ESP) 404
2 *Tom Boonen*(BEL) 366
3 *Vincenzo Nibali*(ITA) 272
4 *Samuel Sánchez*(ESP) 252
5 *Peter Sagan*(SVK) 229
6 *Bradley Wiggins*(GBR) 224
7 *Simon Gerrans*(AUS) 210
8 *Ryder Hesjedal*(CAN) 197
9 *Damiano Cunego*(ITA) 184
10 *Óscar Freire*(ESP) 180
11 *Michele Scarponi*(ITA) 174
12 *Michael Albasini*(SUI) 172
13 *Alejandro Valverde*(ESP) 167
14 *Alessandro Ballan*(ITA) 166
15 *Enrico Gasparotto*(ITA) 150
16 *Roman Kreuziger*(CZE) 149
17 *Bauke Mollema*(NED) 132
18 *Daniel Martin*(IRL) 132
19 *Thomas De Gendt*(BEL) 126
20 *Rigoberto Urán*(COL) 125

I do think that the team rankings rarely lie. BMC, Radioshack, Rabobank and Lotto-Belisol have had disappointing seasons, but AG2r, FDJ and Saxo Bank have had horrendous seasons. OPQS have probably been team of the season, so their WT ranking of 4th does scant justice to them. Greenedge, Astana and Katusha have all had their big guns firing, too. Interesting fact....Bauke Mollema has more WT points than Saxo Bank and FDJ combined.

Rank Team Points
1 Team Katusha 708
2 Liquigas-Cannondale 633
3 Team Sky 597
4 Omega Pharma-Quick Step 574
5 Astana 495
6 Garmin-Barracuda 457
7 Orica-GreenEDGE 428
8 Lampre-ISD 378
9 BMC Racing Team 368
10 RadioShack-Nissan-Trek 333
11 Vacansoleil-DCM 318
12 Euskaltel-Euskadi 311
13 Movistar Team 298
14 Rabobank 273
15 Lotto-Belisol 227
16 Ag2r-La Mondiale 156
17 FDJ-BigMat 79
18 Team Saxo Bank 43

Yeah, as much as I hate the UCI rankings they do reflect the top riders a bit (that is for the 5-10 best maximum) otherwise you get guys who have won the TDU, Bejing, ...

P.S. : You posted the rider ranking twice, instead of the team ranking.

Around this time of the year I think they're the most reflective - probably from Giro till after the end of TDF. Then you do have a lot of crappier WT races skewing the results.
That being said, I still think Boonen is having a better season than J-Rod. So is Hesjedal, one might easily argue

How about a nations ranking?

I think Spain leads, followed by Italy (at least considering the 20 first guys).

Wasn't there someone who had a blog that calculated the rider value points? Is he still doing that?

Which one of the N posters who have tried it and disappeared right after posting it? They were obviously just trying to get hits.

Actually, I didn't really disappear, just been a bit disappointed by some reactions here.

Therefore, I returned to my own country forums where my work is at least appreciated and aknowledge.

I was though trying to share the new updated ranking with a new section with all the riders points
