Why is it my user title is Editor-in-chief? I know this should be editable by me with this version of Vb however I can not seem to find it. On a different forum that I admin with the same software it is rather easy. Perhaps an admin needs to look into this?

OK now it is back to normal... wierd!

For some reason it will be at "editor in chief" until you get past 5 posts then it goes into different grades depending on your post count.

Another glitch: when you reach 1673 posts you will be a moderator until you post again.

I thourougly enjoyed strolling through the mod section at the time.

All of this is a pretty simple fix from the admin cp. Oh well.

Don't get your hopes up, we still have the request to limit image size since the start of the forum. Even with the posted solution its still pending.

Yup forum owners and admins do not always share the same to do list as members. I've bee mostly lurking for a good while and find some real jewels of info here so despite the drawbacks I'll keep coming and occasionally posting.

Did every problem child have their own thread in there?

They said a while back this was a forum bug. I don't think you can fix that from the admin cp. Whoever funks around with the code is more interested in figuring out ways to increase advertisement hits. The probably don't pay attention to the posting atall.

I doubt it is a bug. That sounds suspiciously like cover story to avoid owning up to a mistake. What I guess happened is that when the forum was set up the admin attempted to create a bunch of special titles for various employees of CN. He got it wrong but instead of backing out the changes, just left them there. I don't think you will find any other installations of vBulletin with an "editor-in-chief" bug.

Its definitely not a bug, just a config setting, but I guess that can be considered a bug because its not set to auto-size by default. I know first hand from other vBulletin forums that its not a programming/code bug, as they do not have said issues, then again CN could of only paid for the buggy version and opted out of the patched version(s) for a lower fee?

Based on saving face vBulletin is actually getting a bad rep from allowing CN host such a miss-configured forum. Who would actually buy it after using it here?

Trust me it is no bug. I have admin permissions on a forum currently running vB3.8.4 and I can easily change user titles from the cp, as well as the post count that reflects when they change. I can also limit the size of files and images at will. It is just a matter of the forum owner or admin wanting or deciding there is a need to do so. As a non IT admin there is a bunch of stuff that is voodoo to me but configuration settings are child's play.

You think they have 'editor in chief' set for the first few posts? I'd try to dig up the post I saw where they claimed it was a bug, but I'm too lazy.

They make the typical mod an admin here to root out ip's of sock puppets and make quick bans. Doesn't a forum admin have access to the control
panel?
