Guys,

Not trying to span here. I am a road biker/racer and I think a lot of you guys will be interested in this.

I spent months listening to crap podcasts/DJ mixes that didnt' keep my pumped for my entire ride.

Eventually I started making my own and giving them out to friends. No I am trying to make this a little more official and get a bigger audience. I know bikeforums is a popular place on the web for cyclists to congregate.

Down to the mix. It's 2 hours of house, trance, prog, dubstep, and DnB. Totally fast paced with a lot of cycling related clips in it!

download it from http://www.velobeats.com
and 'Like' it on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/pages/VeloBe...8046386?ref=ts

Enjoy and 'ride lots'

Great idea! I struggle to find stuff as well, i generally use Dubstep mixes for tempo riding, and short bursts of DnB for high intensity riding, got this on the download, cheers! :D

Dup'langzame kutmuziek'step for riding ? I'd fall asleep due to boredom :p I usually use DnB or heavy metal for high intensity and just normal rock or pop when doing long rides :)

Good idea...

although admittedly i had to turn off after about a minute of that techno infused, dub hard hat house whatever it is. Not my cup of tea.

Now if you could do a nice classical mix, or some folk ;)

I actually find the planets suite pretty cool to cycle to, because each movement has a different tempo.. From the nice gentle dancing of the pedals of mercury, to the pounding outer chainring of Mars God of War. 1812 Is fairly good as well, as is Hall of the mountain king. The great thing about classical is on the whole they mix full on high tempo with nice slow sections to rest in.

For gentle rides im not averse to a bit of Charles Trenet, Jacques Brel, Or Charles Aznavour.. Theres something nostalgic about listening to old french songs while riding.

Yeah, the 140 bpm just works for me, the grind of the wobble makes me think of churning the gears round.

It is a bit of an odd thing, i will admit. Most people i know use DnB and metal, which i neglected to mention, but is awesome to ride to as well.

Dim, interesting shout, i wouldn't have thought of Classical, but you make a good argument there, i've got a bit sat on my comp somewhere my ex left on there, might have to dig it out!

I'm much more in favour of a 70s German-inspired soundtrack. The likes of Neu!, La Düsseldorf, Between and of course the mighty Kraftwerk will give you a nice range of tempos but a beautifully motorik super-disciplined beat.

My wife is a spinning instructor. I once begged her to teach an all Kraftwerk class. I was thinking the whole Tour De France soundtrack from start to finish. She merely rolled her eyes. I suppose the only eager participants would have been me and my friend Axel.

Really? I mean Really? this is a sound track for a bad spin class at the gym

I seriously tried to listen to this stuff and imagine myself riding even tempo....all I could think of was riding rollers in a dark garage with a strobe or going to a Rave and dropping X

Found these mixes through the OREC facebook page, love it. It is proper Euro as hell. Only listen if you have white grip tape.

Thanks for putting them out.

here's a mix i did a while back, while not specifically aimed at cycling at the time, i reckon it would be an alright listen with that in mind, lots of "outdoors" sounding dnb:

old time GLR dnb
