Viatcheslav Ekimov says Tyler, Floyd are liars

"Behind his story is something," Ekimov said. "First of all, it's untrue. And behind his story is some money or some stimulation. Because why did this guy just crack now? Why didn't he do it in 2005? Eki senses that with Hincapie ratting out the boss, he might move a step closer to the feeding trough.

Slava, I used to love your riding style. But Lance came along and blunted your edge. Now, you're just a liar and a sycophant. I hope you go down as well.

i like eki. i admired him as a rider. but c'mon.

he went through the sports academy in the soviet union, if memory serves. that doesn't prove anything, but this plus all of the recent revelations sure point to him as a life-long doper. the fact that he would associate with dopers is not a big stretch.

thanks for the link sars. To Slava I'd say money is not always behind every story. Stimulation? Yes. In this case I'd say the stimulation was
Obstruction of Justice...
Jail Time...

and the like.
Just have him ask Barry Bonds.

so when morons like Dave McKenzie and Dave Towle go on about how we need to 'look to the future' and all that, I'd suggest they take a good hard look at the future: Torch passed from Johan to Eki.

This is why it matters, fellas. Guys like Eki are the sport's future. Lots of people got to see it first-hand in Cali, and it wasn't pretty.

Wake the hell up, and grow some integrity.

That's just ugly.

If you're going to be like that Eki, I say go back to mother Russia and hide behind the iron curtain. Or relinquish your Russian citizenship and face the music of the federal subpoena like the rest of the Americans. If you had to look in the eye of potential prison time for perjury, I think you'd change your tune.

131313 is right.

I think also that he is probably a little nervous about his own culpability given than his ex-team mates have been blabbing to the FED's about things.

How would Ekimov have any personal knowledge of what Hamilton claims only he witnessed?

Ekimov is a weirdo.

WOW. I generally have respect for Russian athletes, in any sport, because of their hard work and good behaviour and being fair (in terms of giving credit, thanking, apologizing, etc), but Ekimov is one crazy mullet loving Russian! I think he's spent too much time in Texas...

Omerta is picking up pace.

It is now omerta against the rest of the world (i.e. those who care about clean cycling).

Believe me, these guys (Bruyneel, Ekimov, UCI, and others implicated) will stick together to the bitter end.

i'm infinitely glad icky lost last year's race for the presidency of his nation's cycling federation.

given his stance on armstrong, we'd likely see the resumption of doping coverups in that part of the world...
