In a post stage interview Quintana has said they've worked to prevent some dangerous riders to get back into GC contention. I'm still wondering who are those dangerous riders.

Ben King...

Actually he now sits better in GC than Pinot and Aru.

Yeah....Nairo has his eye on King and knows how big a threat he is :)

Btw ....Aru ? What is the problem....He looks like he is in pain all the time

That is a great question. I think we'd all like to know what has happen to Aru.

Full of jokes. Quintana is quite happy he kicked Valverde's ass. At Sunday evening Valverde will be nowhere.

He is heavier due to the large amount of money he carries in his pockets, a big problem when the road goes up.

Parcours of the next 2 stages suit Valverde. I don't expect him to concede significant time until stages 19 and 20

Saturday, maybe yes. But on Sunday we will have Nairo, Yates, MAL, Uran, Izagirre, maybe even Krujswijk and Kelderman at the top.

Yates can do a better TT than Quintana, what sort of gap would Quintana lose over a flat 32km TT to yates? 30 seconds odd?

I think between 30 seconds to a minute. He'll also need more than that over Valverde, Izagirre, and Kelderman.

Did you ever watched Valverde on Lagos de Covadonga before?

Chapeau Oscar Rodriguez & Euskadi-Murias! :) Who had him down to do well today?

Majka must have been the one that made the GC teams chase down he break at the end.

Hail Jesus Herrada - still in red! :) G must be wishing he had bothered to come to the Vuelta!

Quintana and Yates playing mind games ...

This is what bothers me and it is always the same story. Like Porte is the best rider in Gt's without the results. Now G is the new messiah. Listen I'll make a prediction, G will never ever win another GT.

Just finished watching the replay of the stage.
Really entertaining stage. Rodriguez was brilliant. Dropped Majka and Teuns at the same place where decisive selection happened previous time the race visited the ascent. And his pacing up to that moment was unreal... Appeared like a ghost behind the two at the front.
Good racing in the GC, also. But I got an impression Quintana didn't want to give away too much regarding his shape.
And what was Izagirre doing?

Looking forward to trilogy sequels.
