I really struggle to find anything which could make tomorrow's stage as memorable as Madrazo's win on the same climb.
This aged like fine milk :p
Just having watched the stage VOD-wise, and havent read any posts post yours, so dunno the general opinion, but even without the broadcast of the decisive big breakaway I was fully intertained. Incredible stage IMO.

Congratulations to Sepp Kuss for winning the stage in grand style and to Lenny Martinez for taking the leaders jersey.

Great stage. This Vuelta edition is living up to expectations and has the Tour vibes. JV played it perfectly. Kuss in a big breakaway with half of the JV working hard for him. SOQ likely exhausted themself on this stage. Likely two team members from the breakaway should have been pulled back ASAP. While Kuss was winning in grand style another battle at the back on where Roglič decided to stress test Remco and succeeded. Remco limiting the damages by pacing himself good. Jonas helped to distance Mas. So all in all a perfect storm JV produced and resulting to such unorthodox tactics really profiting from it. ITT will tell if Kuss can win the overall or not. It's possible. Martinez is a bit of unknown too. Lets not forget it's only week one hence there is much more to come. Looking forward to that.

Let's just forget he crashed and it was 2 days after the crash that Mas actually took time on him...
Statement: Mas couldn't touch Remco on the climbs at last year's Vuelta
Fact: Mas actually gained time on Remco on the climbs at last year's Vuelta

It doesn't matter why, the statement was objectively false.
