That is unfortunate for Van Garderen. Will he have to find someone else to motorpace him next year?

And a new training partner?

TJ wants want George has................

TJ is already the people's champion in the US. Since Phil and Paul dramatized him stepping up to help and then ultimately fill the almighty Evans's shoes in 2011 and then 2012, he is already the star child.

Back on topic, depending on the nature of the ban, Lance's continued involvement in the sport may put a lot of people in jeopardy. I don't remember and don't care to look, but some bans to others are real strict about eliminating any contact with the sport. (The case I'm thinking of was an, though). The new WADA rules add another layer on top, also.

EDIT: I'm specifically referring to Mark Block, whose period of ineleigibility was specified to include prohibition contact with athletes, exclusion from the USOC training center and its programs. He was later spotted in the Nike suite at the US Olympic trials, with no consequences for him or Nike besides bad press...

Sorry for deraling this thread with TJ.

The stuff about WADA handing over lots of stuff to CIRC is very interesting. It was no secret that there were no love lost between Verbruggen/McQuaids UCI and WADA. We've heard and read what Pat and Hein had to say about WADA, but the details behind WADAs concerns with UCI could be very interesting to hear more about. Was it anyting like the stuff comming out of Russia these days? Positives disappearing etc?

What exactly is this going to change?

Sure, there are dumbasses riding around in the open and then there are riders, reasonably successful ones even, who are rumored to be still working with banned personnel.

Doubt that they will stop.

David Howman gets tough on athletes and go-betweens who work with banned personnel (eg: Ferrari). He also claims WADA handed over "lots and lots of stuff" to the CIRC.

Will be interesting to see what comes of this. He also concedes that there is probably new products available and that Federations could do a lot more to assist.

LOL! Anyone who believes they'll do anything to clean it up, or punish the dopers, is kidding themselves. Cookson and others have done the lip service thing too, and that didn't work out at all. Nothing will change here either IMO.
