Wasn't Jean-Pierre van Zyl (JP van Zyl) once Positive?

Jean-Pierre van Zyl is a South African ex pro track cyclist who is currently described as the director of "the [UCI] African Continental Centre."

I remember him racing extensively at the Lehigh Valley Velodrome here in Pennsylvania back in the 1990's, and I also thought he tested positive back in the pre-WADA Wild West days. Can anyone confirm?

Joe,

This is the UCI we're talking about. It's run by a guy 'banned' from the IOC and populated with lots of dopers. No one at the UCI cares one way or the other.

Saw that DirtyWorks' message to me was either deleted or otherwise removed - but he raised a good point re. the UCI, and I'm hoping JPVZ was positive once, because it would mean that the UCI will still hire ex-dopers in some capacities...
