Hi, I’m wanting to go to Geelong to watch Cadel defend his jersey this year, and also have some friends coming from O/S. We were thinking about taking an organised trip. We could do the self-sorted thing but frankly I’d rather let someone else do all the work for me . I’ve found three possibles - http://www.bikestyletours.com, http://www.islandcycletours.com and http://www.topbike.com.au. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? They all look pretty good – mostly ten days, some riding beforehand, accommodation in Melbourne or Geelong.

I await people’s sage opinion . . .

Hi, I can highly recommend Bikestyle Tours & Island Cycle Tours. They are both experienced tour organisers who put together a fantastic package. Sorry, I don't know the third operator mentioned.
See you in Geelong!

Hi
I live at Lara only 10km from Geelong city CBD there is heaps of accomadation in this area especialy around the Coast in October and heaps of great riding.
Easy to get to from Melbourne airport (except in peak) traffic easy drive freeway all the way.
You should remember that Gellong and surf coast is swamped every Christmas with half the polulation of Melbourne so accomadation in October is easy

I found accommodation in Geelong but it wasn't easy. Even back in December there wasn't much available. An organised tour may be your only option now since they would have pre-booked accommodation a long time ago.

Try the surf coast or Melbourne

If you can't get accommodation in Geelong itself, there's the Surf Coast (to the west) or Melbourne (an easy hour's drive or train ride away).
