I would think so and I donno how they can "escape" that rule.

My guess is that we will suddenly see appearing a Pinarello sticker on it right on time for the RR event.

Thanks. For some reason I thought they had to ride their sponsor machines.

Maybe that does not apply when he is riding for the UK Olympic team.

Yes. I think olympics are an exception. Also they are asked to keep sponsor logos very small. Interesting also, that it looks as he might be riding on ZIPP's Saturday. Even faster!!! :p

I just read on another forum that the UK track team are riding team supplied bikes. I wonder if that also applies to the road and TT riders.

The Olympics are pretty particular about branding on equipment. I can remember helmets with big black blocks over logos in previous games.

Plus given the shape of the fork it's not like Pinarello would be fooling anyone, not that its stopped teams when it comes to riding "Prototype" 3 spoke wheels.

Hope the UK Olympic committee can scare up a bike before Saturday that fits Wiggo.

From cyclingweekly

The Great Britain men's road race team will line up on the Mall this Saturday not on the Pinarello's and Cervelo's they've been riding all season, but on plain black UK Sports Institute bikes.

The five man team, that consists of Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, David Millar and Ian Stannard will ride road going versions of the GB track bikes, designed with aerodynamics in mind.

Might be fast but it sure is ugly.

Pleasingly tech-y but must be stiff as anything (looks like the track frame with different dropouts).

My guess is that Millar will ride his Cervelo. The Sky guys will be on the BC bikes because the Pinarello sucks. It's heavy and requires really exotic components to reach 6.8, like integrated seat/seat post combos. I've heard that the Sky-guys are not happy with it.

Wonder what Wigans will ride in the TT, the Pina is for sure one of the slowest TT bikes at that level, at least compared to BMC, Cervelo, Cannondale, Specialized and Trek

On the wider topic of olympic bikes:

the Inner Ring ‏@inrng
Meanwhile all riders on Specialized bikes get a red frame regardless of what team they're on.

He'd need a screw loose to change bikes at this stage. TT bike is an integral part of a position/power/comfort trade off.

For the RR Wiggins and Froome were on the BC bikes, Stannard, Millar and pretty much everyone else were on their usual bikes.

Could this mean Sky will change bike sponsors next year?
