Who are you to say who does or does not have an interest in professional cycling. What you mean is people that don't share your point of view. Or is it your limited intellect?
Err, read the first post? Who is he to say that people's time spent on the forums posting (or discussing Armstrong if you take his previous thread into account) is somehow an "illness" or w/e it is you have when you need this thing called "Rehab".
I don't know if these people share my point of view, because I've only ever seen them posting on one issue (either HWSNBN or forum etiquette). If they expressed their opinion on a range of issues, then maybe I'd be able to make a better judgement. I probably share a point of view more with BigBoat than the others in regards to HWSNBN, but that doesn't mean he's excluded.
If you had an interest in professional cycling, wouldn't you comment on it? What did you think of Chicchi's burst in Stage 4, more to come from him? If post count is any indicator, your interest in pro cycling is nothing compared to your interest in testing EPO samples.
I have nothing against lurkers, but if you register to post something less related, wouldn't you extend your posting to your interest in cycling? My knowledge of cycling pales in comparison to most other posters, but I still try and post occasionally (often asking questions) as it helps me learn. There's no shame in admitting your understanding of the sport isn't first-class. Get involved, no one should get criticised for a poor understanding if they approach it in an open and friendly manner.
I lurked for a few months, but finally registered because I felt compelled to say something on subject not strictly specific to professional road cycling. But I figured if I wanted to establish any sort of standing within the community, I'd have to make a contribution in a range of areas.
I just don't understand why you'd register and post if you have no interest in integrating with the community. Just seems like the people who do that simply want an argument or to ruin discussions amongst existing members of the community. You seem completely reasonable, what's stopping you from making a more balanced contribution, rather than just antagonising in specific threads for the thrill of it?
