Sorry, but AC targets plenty of races, check his build up for the last few years. And he races to win. Andy has become a limp rag, always looking over his shoulder if his brother is half way involved. I used to like him but I've grown tired of the brothers act. And for such an elite rider, he should have been laying more on the line in the ToC. Let's see how he does this year against a tired and otherwise pre occupied Alberto. His former friend who he really doesn't like as much as we thought he did. I'm certainly not pulling for him at all.

Yes, I agree that AC goes to win more races. But every GC GT rider has two goals - to win a GT, and the ultimate goal to win THE TOUR.(by winning the Tour he kill two flies with one swat.) So I don`t see what is wrong with that attitude.

Cause Andy is not winning anything.

So out of curiosity what makes you think the guy that sucks everywhere and is god in July is any cleaner? The good influence from his older brother? Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of too.

I guess you are talking about Andy but did I ever even mentioned him? I am not sure what to think about the Schleck brothers but I wrote this in another thread:

I'd say Andy could be a talent since he was great as a young rider (second place in the 2007 Giro) but that could also be because he got "juice'ed" early as ****. I mean let's face it, Basso (CSC) + Riis = Mega doping (2005). Andy joined in 2005...

That plus the fact that Schleck the elder bought "training tips" from Ferrari makes me wonder. What are your opinion on the Schlecks and AC?

here's the thing,

after all the well known frenetic "haters" had the opportunity to vote - this gave contador an huge advance in the beginning - it is pretty clear that the majority of the non-fan\hatter-boys of this forum don't want andy to win.

most likely, they still see - this is perfectly understandable - contador as the real deal even when situations with almost no true importance (in this sport) appears, giving some sort of "excuse" for the frenetic haters to come here.

as this thread proves, misters:

MJM, terminator, merckx index, dwssonic, ACF, and others,

you guys are not only the cancer of this forum, but also the cancer of this sport. you people only see fanboyism in a different opinion, no matter how logical or well constructed it is, and easily forget that your point of view means nothing because you have no basis, no decency, lots of hypocrisy, blindness and double standards just to make your fantasy world less unrealistic. you represent what is wrong, and we the true fans have to change that.

time to wake up.

regards,

pedro.

I'll tell you why I don't want Contador to win. It's not because I think that he's doper and all the others are clean, because I don't think that.

It's because he has a hearing at CAS in August and there is a real chance that he will be banned and stripped of his victories.

As it is we don't know who won the 2010 Tour
We also don't know who won the 2011 Giro

This, in itself, is a very damaging situation for cycling. Another Tour win would make it even worse.

When they cross the line in Paris, I want to be able to say Schleck/Evans/Gesink won the Tour de France, not 'We don't know who won, we'll find out in August'.

Pay close attention now ALBERTO CONTADOR WON THE TOUR IN 2010
and ALBERTO CONTADOR WON THE GIRO IN 2011
YOU can believe whatever other nonsense you want to believe. If they tell you to jump off the roof, are you jumping??? THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN BROUGHT ON ALL OF US BY THE POWERS THAT BE. BY WADA AND UCI AND DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING ELSE. THIS IS ALL THEIR FAULT, NO ONE ELSE'S. THIS CONSTANT WHINING BY ALL THE CYCLING FANS IS SO INCREDIBLY PATHETIC. I, FOR ONE, HAVE BEEN ENJOYING ALL THE RACING, AND I DON'T GIVE A HOOT WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SPORT. IT'S NOT IN MY CONTROL, AND I HAVE NOTHING AT STAKE. IF THEY KILL THE SPORT, THEY AREN'T COMING OVER TO MY HOUSE TO TAKE MY BIKE, AND THAT'S ALL I CARE ABOUT. ALL THE WHINERS ABOUT "THE GOOD OF THE SPORT" REALLY OUGHT TO GET A REAL LIFE.

So you are saying that ivan basso, vino, landis, hamilton, rebellin, di luca and other dopers are all innocent as it is the fault of WADA and UCI.

most likely the same opinion that he (and any sane person) has of all those guys in that list.

Andy is perceived by many as the 2nd best stage racer in the world right now.

Andy clearly has a fixed calendar, he feels it's working. If anything it looks like he's paying more attention to 'other races' this year than 2009-10. But you'd think that somebody with his level of ability could, even with only a little effort, picked up something in the way of an actual stage race victory.

I'd say he's perceived as being the 2nd best GT rider, rather than stage racer, per se. His lack of TT ability would make it difficult for him to beat, for example, an Evans or a Menchov, over 1 week.

His stage race record (outside of GTs) is very poor though for somebody of that ability. Especially considering he's proven he can win biggest races outside of July.

This is the most useless and worst thread I have seen for quiet a long time.
It's an insult and tragedy, even for the CN forum, and an insult to human intelligence and an insult to people around here who call themself "cyclingfans".
This reminds me of first schooldays were kids write into girlies albums, which teacher or classmate they like least.
Anyway, it's not the first time I think this , but if I didn't know better I would think that Dim is just 7 years old or an Neandertaler.

But ok, expressing hate and dislike seems to be the favorite and most important way to have "fun" around here.
Only SKY is the limit.

C'mon Cobble'd, now you're starting to sound like an old lady. :)

It isn't my favorite thread either and I refuse to select a rider in the poll, still nobody forces you to read these posts. Some people might actually find it interesting to see which riders are generally less popular amongst the crowd, no reason to start crapping all over the thread now with such paternalistic remarks!

Also imagine a cycling forum where everybody just likes all the riders. Apart from that being a Utopian idea, it also seems like a pretty boring place to hang around.

If Tony Martin had been on the list, I'd have voted for him to get Bavarian going.

I went with Retirement Shack, but for reasons stated before (CAS appeal) I should have voted for Contador.

I would really be bummed if Evans or Wiggins won. I'm hoping that they both have colossal meltdowns and subsequent excusefests. It just makes things interesting.

I think it would be hilarious if a Radio Shack rider won.
