I would vote for Contador as it seems likely he shall come either 1st-2nd at the TDF and then win the Vuelta ( along with a few other races/ might give the WC a tilt ). However he might be suspended so i have no idea.

Why is everyone so far saying Martin as well? He might win more ITT's and maybe the WC ITT but i don't envisage him winning so many stage races next year or going well at the TDF ( GC wise ) Next year at races like P-N they will hopefully be harder raced as well.

Surely next year is as good a TdF for Martin as any, in terms of WC points. No Cav to look after and 100km of TT over 3 stages.

I think Rodriguez will be lighting it up in the Giro & Vuelta, in addition to the spring races. I think he could win again.

I didnt realise he have repeated winning the pro tour before

When he wins something, he often wins it for a second time the year later.

Piemonte 2009/10, Paris-Tours 2008/9, Il Lombardia 2009/10, Amstel Gold Race 2010/2011

It tells you something. It means he has no problem at all to cope with the pressure of being a favorite in a race. E3 Prijs Vlaanderen being World Tour also plays in his favor as it means an extra 80 points for him on offer. Cancellara won't have it so easy this time around.

Anyone know of any other events becoming WT next year? Heard some lame stories about a stage race in the land of the Tsar.

I think the better question is, who is going to care? It isn't like winning the Wordltour matters to anyone.

You do get a special UCI pen and a handshake from McQuaid.:p

Tell that to Gilbert.

He only cared to the extent that he found himself with the opportunity to win it close to the end of the season, so put a bit of effort in to guarantee it. It wouldn't have been an objective for him, or any other rider, at the start of the season. All of the their objectives centre around the things that really matter.

If we can believe Cav, that goes for the green jersey at the Tour as well :)

I think that was true for maybe the first or second year his was in the running, but definitely not the last 2 years.

We all know that's nonsense, and I say that as a fan. I've described it in the past as an obsession rather than an aim.

Oh, I'm just pointing out here that you don't have to believe everything a cyclist says :)

Gilbert only cared because at the end of the season he suddenly found out he could win it. If he hadn't managed to win it, he wouldn't have cared about missing it. And I doubt whoever ended second cared.
