Final day of the Tour of Britain clashes with the Team Time Trial at the Worlds. Being a trade team event, I'd have thought Sky might have fancied it as the best use of Brad's skills, rather than dispatch him off to the provinces of the UK for a week. Tour win and gold in Time Trial ain't gonna be eclipsed by him tootling around Stoke... Sky: 'Team World Champions' or 'Wiggo 'Tour of Britain winner'... ?

Has it been said he's doing the ToB?

It seems a bot odd the the ToB would clash with the worlds. I assumed that the worlds would be the only event on at that time.

EDIT: Just checked the websites and there is an overlap. How stupid is that!? The ToB is surely going to miss out on a few top level riders. If wiggo wants to train on the course for either the team or individual TT then thats on the 15th, the penultimate stage of the ToB. But this will rule out quite a few people; half the sky squad! Of the WT teams for last years ToB Liquigas and Garmin will surely prefer the worlds to the ToB and with squads in la vuelta the ToB could have a very weak field

Yeah I just noticed that and added to my previous post. So no time trial specialists at the ToB. No one aiming at the world RR will be at the ToB as its too close. And a lot of the better riders will be at la vuelta. The ToB could be a low level event. Or maybe JTL will actually win it!!

Seems Wiggins can't sacrifice everything for this sport for a long period of time like we've seen in some other great champions. At least that's what I get from his interviews. He even thinks about returning to the track for 2016 Olympics because he has to train less hard there. Will probably never reach this level again. But that's fine I guess, his palmares is pretty darn good.

Has there ever been a cyclist who has won gold in the pursuit as well as the TT?

I know Chris Boardman got a bronze in atlanta after his gold in barca.

Has any rider produced such an impressive palmares whilst winning so few Road Races.I can only think of him winning in Romandy + The British Champs.

What is the point of doing a TT on a dual carriageway if not to get a nice tow from people going a bit close.

While the accidental tow from an army convoy down the A3 is one of the wonders of our sport ;) the near death experience as a lowered 106 or Saxo 'buzzes' you is something I can do with out.

Winterfold hill says JTL is a lock  for the Tour of Britain, if it was a bit closer the finish...
