- French sports daily L'Equipe Saturday is reporting that Lance Armstrong will arrive in France Monday to begin preparing for the Tour de France (July 3-25). While Armstrong was not expected to compete in the Dauphiné Libéré (June 6-13), L'Equipe reports that a source tells them the Tour de Suisse (June 12-20) is also unlikely. Armstrong is expected to begin training in and around his European base at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat near Nice.

Too old, too tired...

I don't think he will ride the Tour. I like him, and I'd like to see him do well, but to me, this year, he looks old and tired.

He's not hungry enough, not motivated enough, and he just doesn't have his old legs.

Time to retire again.

It's sounds stupid but with the Feds on the case I think France might be the safest place for him right now! or perhaps Brazil.... maybe Cuba....

According to the Times 2 other riders are considering cooperation, if that happens you can stick a fork in LA.
I dont know...Lance will negotiate this.

Applaud Landis for doing what he did. Anybody would sooner 'come out' after somebody cleaned the toilet with their 800cc blood refill. I have to attribute that to Landis's religous upbringing, having little back bone. But then again maybe he's just like that naturally.

Give me a week or 2 b4 I have an opinion, because right now I Hven';t got an F'n clue how things will go from here. Could be yesterday's news in no time - or it get a lot more serious. If it's only public scrutiny - not legal - I think he'll ride -as motivated as ever.

Exactly what I was going to say, he will know from experience that this bombardment will not blow over, it could even be that the new King has more power as a natural consequence of winning everything he looks at, and also what Lance did to him at the Tour last year was sporting fraud without any needles needed.,Contador would, i hope, not support him in any way.

If Lance is banned from the Tour, will he take it lying down?

I mean c'mon, this is the guy that helped buy testing equipment to bust the dopers.

Will Lance name names?
"You want a doper?"

Lance might ot might not name names, but if this rolls it could roll really far. Landis implicates almost all of US Postal. Those rider have also ridden for other teams and would know about any organized doping on those teams. Of cause teams working on the principle of see no evil hear no evil would be less vulnerably.

i voted the third alternative. which is to say i hope he doesn't, because then it'll once again be all about him. when he first announced his comeback, i was annoyed, because i knew he would be all the papers would be writing about, but i had no idea how bad it would be. at this point, i'm so tired of hearing the name, that i don't care if he is suspended, thrown in jail, or just retires in silence, so long as he goes away and everyone can get back to the racing.

Of course he will! its stupid to think he wont,
it will take a very long time to investigate especially with federals, BALCO was 2 years
the team is in as it has a pro tour licence and was selected and frankly if the time its takeing to ban Valverde is anything to go by id bet he ll ride next year as well!

he will ride he will win and it will be the best cycling story ever :D and the haters will have one more reason to believe he is doping

He probably will ride, and he won't win unless he beats alberto or andy or wiggins or leipheimer or frank of their bikes
