World Championships 2025 team selections thread

Australia announced their teams a couple weeks ago: https://australiancyclingteam.com/news/road-worlds-2025-team

New Zealand apparently not sending an elite M team:
- Female Elite: Kim Cadzow (EF Education-Oatly, Wanaka), Niamh Fisher-Black (Lidl-Trek, Nelson), Ella Wyllie (Liv AlUla Jayco, Auckland).
- Male Elite: No applicants.
- Female Under-23: No selection made.
- Male Under-23: Redmond Connolly (Wuzhishan SCOM MVMT, Auckland), Nate Pringle (Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe Rookies, Christchurch).

Australia is going all out in the mixed ITT. They have no Gigante or O'Connor for this race, however with a team of Matthews/Vine/Plapp/Chapman/Hanson/Manly should get a podium. Reckon Vine or Plapp are a chance of a medal in the ITT. Have no expectations for the mens RR unless Plapp or Vine show one day pedigree. Bradbury can ride well in the womens RR, however she is dreadfully inconsistent. The under 23's in M and F have left behind their most suited rider in Tuckwell and Appleton. Dont have enough information about the junior riders.

No women, under 23 or juniors selected
It will be interesting to see what they do for Healy, I liked the tactic in the OGRR even if it didn't end up in a medal, going super early with 1 or 2 riders ahead in the early break for him to catch is probably the best chance to end up at the front towards the end. Slovenia have the best rider but their team is lacking and will find it hard to control, Rog is probably on holiday already. Then again if he follows and saves energy he would be a good shout for a medal, albeit not gold.

No Kuss or Jorgenson on a climber’s course. Not enough recovery time after Vuelta?

Looks like the gofundme to send the junior women to Rwanda has been successful. 99% target raised so far. Never knew there was a town in the US called Chevy Chase.
