RCS Sport, Flanders Classics and A.S.O will reduce number of riders per team from 9 to 8 on the Grand Tours from 2017
And 8 to 7 on Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico, Critérium du Dauphiné, Paris-Roubaix, Ronde van Vlanderen, Giro di Lombardia, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Milano-Sanremo, Flèche Wallonne and much more. :)

I fail to see how taking Kiryienka out would of weakened Sky at the Tour.
Others working more, mechanically.
Still I imagine the teams will kick up a storm.

I'm a bit confused about this whole deal with teams having been rewarded WT status for next year.
There are 18 WT spots, after UCI agreed to postpone to reduction to 17 teams for 2018, and 18 teams applied for a license. Yet TJ Sport is still 'under review' despite not even being one of the teams in danger of missing out if the reduction of teams had been maintained.
Who else are they gonna give the last spot to? Some random Pro-Conti team who neither wants the spot, nor is able to afford it?

More likely simply a late application or administrative issue, it happens every year that there are a couple of teams who get late registrations owing to budget changes, or not having enough riders confirmed, meaning that the submission is still being processed when the UCI's deadline is reached and s the announcement is made. Barring a real issue with the application TJ Sports/Lampre will get a WT berth, and if they don't it's almost certain they'd be ProConti and there'd be 17 WT teams, and TJ would get a slot at most of the races they want with their roster anyway, with at least 3 legit sprint options, a former World Champion who can contribute to any hilly Classic or week long stage race, Ulissi being a stagehunter par excellence, Atapuma and Meintjes as GC men... they might be a bit sidelined at the northern Classics but then they don't tend to contribute much to those in recent years anyway (at least since Oliveira's RVV exploits a few years ago).

They already told the UCI that they'd need a bit longer to provide all the needed documents, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Is One Pro Cycling still in existence ? Do they have funding for 2017 ?

They will drop down to continental level.

I believe ONE are no certainty to race at CT Level.
ONE will race next year as a CT team. They have a new bike sponsor for three years.

Lets wait and see - My information came a few days after One Pro's press release on the 23rd of November - The other possibility is One Pro will have a reduced team and offer less dollars.

I'd be surprised if they don't continue next season and the team size as it stands does scream Conti squad, pity as Dion Smith, Von Hoff and Oram really should be racing PCT but this late in the transfer season they will struggle to find anything better

It's so hard and rare to put together a project in our neck of the woods like Funvic and the riders not only used these chance to clearly dope to hang on to the chance to be part of this chance but even then(!?) performed ridiculously in the big leagues.. It's so stupid..!?.. What a waste of effort...
VERY envy and jealous of the African teams and projects...

A cloud of uncertainty hangs over TJ Sport, what could be China’s first top cycling team, with its WorldTour license delayed and training camp cancelled.

Rumors of problems circulated already in October for TJ Sport, which is the latest iteration of the Lampre – Merida team from Italy. A week and a half ago, the UCI license commission announced 17 of 18 possible WorldTour teams without TJ Sport. The UCI’s footnote explained it is still reviewing the team’s application for the 2017 season.

Monday, the team cancelled its pre-season December training camp. It emailed the 24 signed cyclists — including South African Louis Meintjes, eighth in the Tour de France, and Ben Swift from team Sky — to explain the delay and to postpone any camp until January.

Team officials told VeloNews that they are busy preparing the needed paperwork and wanted to wait to say more because “it is a very delicate time and the situation is evolving.”

I blame the curse of Ben Swift

I think the real reason is:
