Sunday's 4th Stage: Santiago/Criterium

The stage was cancelled as riders protested due to hazardous conditions, swamped terrain, and no concern whatsoever on behalf of the well being of the athletes from the organizers. We stand behind them 100 percent. Do not jeopardize the riders, they don´t need BS

5th Stage:>Moca>Jarabacoa>Constanza. 113 KM

The ocean don't cost a thing/Neither does a mountain peak/CLIMBED/If you could breath the WindLessBreeze/.........."MER
Today's high mountain stage will re-shape the scenario. The South Americans will attack the rest of the pelotón from the foot of the Jarabacoa>Constanza mountain range. Over 1500 meters of climbing can do great things; Or bad things. Depending on what type of rider you may be::rolleyes: MONTANI*SEMPER^ LIBERI. Starting at 200 meters above sea level and ending at 1173 ASL. Can the fellows from Smart*Stop defend the Yellow*Jersey? I doubt it.......Galviz(Táchira/Eco^Cafê) breaking away with 20 KM left. 4 riders from Formesan/Colombia in close pursuit. But the Venezolano won't get caught today.

1)Carlos Galviz(VEN/Tachira) 2:58:47 AVG 37.587

Tuesday.Double#Jeopardy<6a)110km/6b)20k ITT

:cool:The morning's transition stage is made for barouders and puncheurs, but it could also end in a selected mass sprint. The defending champion leads Rob Britton (Can/Smart*Stop) by 1:50 & Pedro Torres (Col/C.N.E.) by 1:59. Yesterday's winner, Carlos Galvíz (Ven/Tac) is in 4th place at 5:14. In the afternoon, a flat ITT with two laps in Parque Mirador Sur (& 3 times 180 degrees U turns) is geared for specialists and roleurs. Sitting in a small plateau 48 meters above sea level overlooking beautiful Caribbean Sea, it could become windy.

6a) Brief results:
1-Jure Kocjan (Smart*Stop) 2:42:36 Avg. 41 k/h
2-Janis Dakteris(Deffernage) ST
3-Jorge Luis Martínez(RD/Vega) ST

5 dudes broke away with 80 km left. The whole pelotón arrived COMPACTO, grupetto style, 2 minutes & 8 secs later. Everything remained the same.

Stage 6b) shortened to 10 KM instead of planned 20. It would have been a logistical nighmare, as riders would drift and provide illegal slipstreams, besides going by the ramp for the second lap. Anyway:

1)Marentes(Col/Formesan) 12:06 (49.587 k/h)
2)Herrera (Col/For) at :04
3)Galviz (Ven/Tac) :08
4)E.Sánchez(Col/For) :12
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
11)I. Sánchez (RD/Vega) :42>(12th overall at 13:28)
12)A. Sánchez (RD/Inteja):47>(.............................)
14)Adderlyn Cruz(RD/Ochoa):48>(9th overall at 9:01)*Best placed DOM rider*
All categories remained same. Leader reinforced and increased his dominance.
2-26-14: Parcours and gradients changes 4 stage 7
;)Instead of Sto.Dgo>San Juan. ~180 km, and long transfer back w/o proper transportation for some local teams, it will be San Cristóbal>Baní>Santo Domingo ~ 132 km. The nightmare will be to get back safely to traffic congested Capital City. Parcours changes won't be significant, I believe. Less climbing will make it more interesting at this point. 3 intermediate sprints & 3 cat.3 hills.
I'll keep you posted folks (& other imaginary Pals).....9 dudes, including several locals, broke away most of the day & shared most intermediate prizes, but: at the end of the day: Nighmare
1)Nurbolat Kulimbtov(KAZ) 2:52:13 median 46 k/h
2)Zachary Bell(Smart*Stop) :4 sec
So Far/Yet so close
:rolleyes: The only change in the classifications was the points jersey. The stage winner, Kulimbetov, surpassed Edwin Sanchez. The best placed local riders so far: GENERAL: Adderlyn Cruz in 9th place and Ismael Sanchez in 11th place. On the other hand, Augusto Sanchez placed 5th in the KOM cat. Tomorrow's flat circuit offers no points for KOM. In the teams category, the proud boys from La*Vega are sitting in 2nd. place, 26:37 behind virtual winner Formesan. Only two podiums, both 3rd places: yesterday's road race by Jorge Luis Martinez (aka NOVATIN) & today's third place by Diego Milan, dominican road champ hailing from Spain, but now a proud Serie 26. But we'll improve, or die attempting it. For example, out of nowhere, Jordalis Hernández (MOCA) managed to finish 2nd. overall in the sprints.
Last Dance: Gridlocks, Impasses, Polígono Central
Sunday's final critérium saw yet another protest by Directors Sportifs from responsible teams, as the traffic police lacked manpower and authority to close all intersections in the middle of busy comercial and residencial Polígono Central on Independance Day, when all GOV.DO authorities must travel back and forth conducting goosip, tales, and business. The Vuelta organizers should have known better after XXXV attemps; And the golf hooligan Mayor shouldn't have awarded the proper permits. Anyhow, welcome to the 4th world.
Only several laps at cruising speed, with one final sprint, allowed DR to achieve it's only stage win: mass sprinter specialist Deivy Capellán(Alcaldía SPM) was able to beat two Kazakhs at the same time. Elbows played a big part, a game at which Boronoto, el orgullo de Villa Juana, excels. Wraping up: Sorry I didn't have the time and patience to posts pics and parcours info, which could be found in my FB account Manuel Emilio Rodríguez, rancho3Chico^Industrial/Political*Think*Tank; Only problema is that I only accept friendship requests from hot and sexy señoritas'. Bye. Now my attention is elsewhere, like if any of you do care, or I care.
Of gradients, wildcards, & Commisary report*
:confused:The Int't Commisary, Roberto Coca from Spain, gave B+ grade to the competitive nature of the Vuelta (awaiting clinical reports) and a C- to the organization. Now it's up to the new UCI honcho, Míster Cookson from UK to meet with the Executive board in order to decide wether or not next year's V.I.N. will be granted UCI 2.2 status again. He did not elaborate any further, rather oblivious to requests to offer specific information. Time delays, traffic gridlocks, excesive HDs, ilegal slipstreams, feeding out of zone, .....were his main concern. Halt!, Stop!, Roll! Some Director's Sportiffs thought they were playing in a patio race. Lack of knowledgeable translators and poliglotas' played an important role in his almost No Contest report. But now, Classic Season started in Belgium, so Bye-Bye..........He chose to act very diplomatic regarding the Technical Director, et al.
Of clueless riders
:eek:My belief is that w/o a proper mixture of physical, mental, & spiritual estable equilibrium; that w/o learning the theory, the streching and breathing techniques; W/o properly trained physiologists, nutritionists, therapists, as well as equipment, technical personnel,........the elite athlete is lost. Our kids perform well ´till they become adults, when other tasks and gadgets not addressed by the Ministry of Sport or the Dominican Olympic Committe, not to mention the Cycling Federation, are not met. When the meager funds are wasted on feasts totally divorced from the needs and aspirations of the local riders; where the local tifosis aren´t able to partake in the decision making process(Like we´d care, or would attend to meetings where the Technocrat is MIA, & the Bureaucrat is POW); When national teams are chosen to please society´s elites instead of performance, actitud and aptitud´; When local boys are discriminated against based not on race (We´re all mulattoes overhere), but of social castes based on political connections by the folks who would embarrass themselves to obtain a post they ain´t qualified for.......I am afraid we´re going downhill. I hope I´m mistaken, but I doubt it
Of Pitises´ & Massissíes
The worldwide community at large pretends we'll accomodate 5 million haitians (We already lodge ~2 million & counting), while they can't grant visas to any of them. They are setting up a 5th column (Caballo de Troya) at 18N/69W, and pretend the population is made up of eunucos like the GOV.DO. I'll tell you what: If they can't pronounce the Word PEREJIL properly (Not Perejile), they better start packing. We'd suggest the following: Work Permits to be granted by (at least)
USA>1,000,000.
Brazil>1,000,000
Canada>100,000
France>300,000
....................
....................
=5,000,000.....................Or whatever
& so forth......
We've helped them the most, but they have abused of our hospitality. With 25% unemployment rate, we have Jobs for our local workforce barely. So, from now on: No vivan vidas ajenas. The world is responsable for the Social Revolution which will follow. We'd like to thank the countries which have offered their support to our cause of self-determination of our affairs. They'd like to remain silent for the time being. So, the perpetrators have the ball on their court. Just make a move against us if you guys think you are tough, Hollywood crowd et al. The Black<>Swan is watching you all. Sincerely:
..............................................The poetry()wizard
We'd suggest they address their affairs as well INSIDE/OUT....Otherwise: Zombies are going to roll down. Personae non gratas from now on, despite of any other consideration which we'd think off. (Nota del Autor: Los que han nacido aquí, son de aquí. Provided they can prove it). Period. DR´s population
~10,000,000; Haiti's a mistery, but int'l ONGs which provide demographic studies worldwide estimate it around the same. Total Hispaniola Island:72,000 square KM.....DR 48,000 sk...........WE ARE FED UP. They invaded us in 1822. Ocupation lasted ~ 22 years. Try it now and we'll send them to the smithereens. VP's visit to DR cancelled
:)Bachelet back on Top: After attending Chile's mingling with the hot & happening crowd, the Int'l Jet^Set, The Power-Breakfasts schmuks who'd like to schmooze and mingle with one another in order to eat and drink free of charge, all paid by the unwitting taxpayers of the world; The VP was schedule to come to DR in order to convey a message: Take all the Pitises who'd like to cross the border, no questions asked. It seems to me that someone, somehow, was able to get the DR's point of view accross loud and clear: It ain't gonna' happen, dude. He was able, finally, to grasp the meaning of (849)dem-bowU, 'cause the other #:(809)999-cit@, was out of order. Thx for all of you who've had the patience and know-how to fully understand and support my blog. I'd like to express my gratefulness to CN, the Encyclopedia of Cycling, for their understanding of some of my excentricities. Now back to Tirreno & P-N.
Let das' horses run berserk (smithereens)
After everything was said and done, most foreign teams continued their journey in Vuelta a Mexico, and other races. Our boys, those w/o Continental contracts in USA, remained in home soil. The Military road race took place, made up of one 40 K ITT, a 120 road race, & a 120 k criterium. Rafa Merán(Ejêrcito/Foundation), the pride of populous Cristo*Rey 'hood won in 53:38 (median 44.96 k/h), not bad if you take into account the sea wind and 7 U turns. The record holder, Rafa Infantino(PN/Aguardiente^Antioqueño)who performed under 50 min for a median of almost 49 k/h,couldn't come this year. Second was Augusto Sánchez(Marina/Deffernage) 26 secs back; while William Guzmán(Ejêrcito/Mengoni) rounded up the podium 28 secs back. The road races were full of pleasant surprises. Charlie Hernández(Marina)won the first, while nóbel Josiel Rodríguez(Policía) surprised everyone in the criterium. Overall winner was Policía, helped by two silver by Boy from Bonao, Mr. Pitrinchi. Marina finished 2nd, Ejêrcito 3rd, and Air Force, the once dangerous squad, finished dead last. In april the track events will take place. Our olimpian cycle starts at the end of the year, in Centroamericanos, Guadalajara, Mêxico. So long. Thanx 4 the support everyone. I hope to see you all soon
Free translation (Not Google's):
Los Sefarditas financiaron a Colón?/& nos prestaron el jamón*(Hartmont)!/Nos enseñaron Franc$Masón!!/& hasta nos legaron Centro&León!!!~~~MER
*Hartmont was a loan borrowed ~1870 by a De Facto rêgime.....After paying it several times over, two invasions by our beloved friends the Bronx Bombers; It seems to me we still owe it. Now they' want U$ to allow just about everyone to come within our borders and get jobs they ain't qualified for w/o proper license; free education, free health care, free home%care attendants,.......while the dominican population at large is starving, jobless, ill (soul, mind, body)......Thx dudes!.....
PD: Cosaks are waiting for a Cage Aux Follies sort of pelotón to come free Crimea. Latinos will not partake as guinea(pigs)......NotFolNothin'......(After returning from faraway lands, stalked, stranded, they are homeless, jobless, in AMERICA; while the war dodgers & profiteers just about have a swell time:cool:)
USA*Crits, Cholet^Pays, Cataluña, & MSR
;)The vikings are sort of ****ed off. Kristoff(KAT) from Norway, helped by Iron*Horse Paolini, grabbed the 299 KM race in over ~ 45 k/h in a rainy and cold sunday afternoon, when politicians were sort of drinking six-packs of (what?) in NI. On another part of town, beautiful Emma Johansson, now riding Down/Under, does hat*trick easily. Now down to earth, Florida's DelRay; 1st USA*Crit of the season, darkness around. But Cataluña is about to start, dudes; I must go now, Beaches' wait 4 me.....But wait! Slovako &/or Esloveno from Giant-Shimano (Which one, sport; The former are slaves almost aryan, while the latter are sort of caucasians from Yugo' stock) wins 1st stage, 162 guys same time, Richie Porte from SKY way back out of GC
