Zierke's EPO death / PEDs in MTB

I couldn't find one single post with the name Zierke in it.
Has this case been overlooked?

Frederik Zierke was one of the best German amateur mountainbikers. He died on September 10th 2011 after taking EPO.

he died in 2011, but it just came to light that the police completely ****ed up the investigations after having found a ****load of different kinds of doping in his house. The investigations are now being reopened, and it's getting quite some press. This case could have some quite interesting implications for (anti-)doping research in germany.
The short Spiegel preview (see link) already contains quite some detail on what he took the night he died.

Yes, the judicial system failed. However, his family did not turn his phone or computer over to the German ADA, either.... I'm know I would if it'd concerned my wife, or my son.

Maybe since "journalist" Sally Jenkins said this about doping:

it’s simply not shocking or enraging to learn that he was like all the other cyclists who sought a medical advantage

I’ve long believed that what athletes put in their bodies should be a matter of personal conscience

it seems the height of hypocrisy to then dictate what’s good for them

the “anti-doping” effort consists of criminalizing and demonizing athletes for what boils down to using medications without a prescription

I wonder why putting your own blood back into your body is the crime of the century

it doesn't seem right to question what athletes do. According to Sally, if you die

you are responsible for yourself and your choices

Zierke knew a bunch of experts, all ex-Telekom riders: Hundertmarck, Boelts, Zabel – they had better told him how to use the stuff.
