That guy is a big joke. He always seems offended that cyclists are still allowed to win classics ever since he stopped. We've just seen De Vlaeminck's comments, for instance.

Tha GOATs. Real recognize real.lol riders who make statements as such tower over those who try to denigrate their opinion.
Merckx himself referred to pogi abilities and achievement in context to his own. Anyone care to pick apart Merckx’s assessment?
Calm down with the hot takes. Obvious he didn't feel great this entire raceAyuso is overrated as hell. Now UAE know that only Pogi can win the Tour.
Yet he has less wins...And MVDP was destroyed during Liege. Was very mediocre in Amstel, a race Pogacar dominated last year. We can continue this to the end of time, you see?
Pogacar has a wider range of classics he can win AND has shown to be even better than MVDP in the race that suits him the best on the calender.
Isn't it Roubaix for MVDP against Pogacar? And MVDP was destroyed during Liege. Was very mediocre in Amstel, a race Pogacar dominated last year. We can continue this to the end of time, you see?

Does he really?Yet he has less wins...
Yes he really does.Does he really?
Last year Pogacar had 4 WT one-day races won
Van der Poel had 2 (plus WC).
This year Pogacar has 2 (out of 3 races)
Van Del Poel has 3 (out of 6 races)
And that's despite VDP specifically targeting these races. The only race that Pogacar can't realistically win is Paris-Roubaix.
Yet MVDP has road more of them…Yet he has less wins...
Pogacar dropped MVP 2 times in the race. The first time he was caught by MVP, WVA and Laporte. Next year, racing against UAE will be tough because their team will be very strong with riders like Veermesch, Polits, Morgado, Wellens and BjergI am curious to see if Pogacar can repeat in Flanders what he did last year. He probably can, it looked quite easy, but part of me hopes that a Van der Poel who marks only him and saves all his energy to follow Pogacar on this one hill, can follow him next time.
Meanwhile I'm in a quantum super position between rooting against Pogacar any chance I get while also finding the notion that Van der Poel is a better 1 day racer offensive.
He is a Roglic fan. Of course he doesn't like Pog, remember WVA and Dumoulin watching Pogi destroying LPBF? RedRick was doing the same at home. Why rooting against Teddy? He's a nice guy who wins sometimes and everybody in the peleton loves him*
*except Van Baarle

And is younger. Tadej started winning classics in 21 and is obviously focusing a whole lot on that race in France.Yet he has less wins...
Because MVDP focused on the road since he was 19?And is younger. Tadej started winning classics in 21 and is obviously focusing a whole lot on that race in France.
Thats just such a bad argument.

So he has time to catch up then, nice. And is younger. Tadej started winning classics in 21 and is obviously focusing a whole lot on that race in France.

So who was 3rd in Liege 2020 then? No, but he focused on the classics since 2019, two years earlier than Pogačar so it makes sense that he has more wins and when we look at World Tour races they are basically tied.
I have no such dilemma.Meanwhile I'm in a quantum super position between rooting against Pogacar any chance I get while also finding the notion that Van der Poel is a better 1 day racer offensive.
