    It is now official. Aussie Baden Cooke (Orica) retires. CyclingNews speculated at the end of October, but now it is confirmed. He won the Green Joursey at the Tour in 2003 + over 50 pro races. Young by Papa standerds at 35! Source...

    Whats the bet Vino himself comes out of retirement to lead the team wins all 3 Grand Tours + Monuments in a single year. Ofc it will have to become Pro Conti first though.

    Perhaps a little small even for "Little Known Race Results" thread.. But the Tour of Southland is one of New Zealand's largest domestic races. It's only a National Tour event but attracts a decent group of domestic, Aussie and international pros. Past winners include Hayden Roulston...

    All the stages so far have been very 'classicy' on hilly routes where the Sky Train has never excelled. I think wait until we hit the likes of Galibier and Wiggo will make more of an impact on the longer climbs! Should make the race very interesting!
