Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: Re: I'm not sure he has something the rest doesn't have. Whatever it is: it just works extremely well on his physique. EPO also worked better for some than others. Not everybody gets a 10% power increase, some will hardly benefit, others are turned into mutants. Also, I'm not sure it's a...

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: Re: No. You cannot take food from the car/roadside within the last 20km. He carried it in his pocket so nothing illegal. Also, if you race amateurs, you should know that if you're pulling at the front you have to appear like you're not hurting so you try to erase any plans for attacks...

How do Lowlanders learn to climb? (Official Mollema/Ten Dam/Belkin thread)

Re: No: he already received a lifelong ban last year: http://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2015/01/22/oud-rabodokter-geert-leinders-voor-het-leven-geschorst-a1419305 Quite a strange thread this. As if climbing requires some sort of special background. In the end you need to push your pedals and that...

    Ben Foster doped....to play Lance.

It's ****, that's what it is. Don't think that's illegal but certainly annoying.

    Dumoulin.

If you dope, you will have better recovery. So, the odds of a bad day are lower than when you're not doping. It doesn't mean that if you dope, you won't have bad days. If only things were so simple. Dumoulin has been achieving above his base level. So in that respect it isn't that strange that...

    Dumoulin.

Facts tell me this is a very very suspicious performance. I, however, am only about 90% sure he's doping. What's holding me back is his attitude and the rest of the team. They simply look stunned (TD included) by what happens. Craddock seems honestly surprised. So was his DS Engels. And when...

    Dumoulin.

Giant Alpecin confirmed that Dumoulin's weight is 70. So Dumoulin 'only' needs 48 watts more than Aru to drag himzelf up a hill and a sad 78 watts to follow Rodriguez. Nothing to see here, please move along.

Re: This is probably more amazing than the rest of the Vuelta. At least he lost *some* time uphill thus far. I just saw Aru drop everyone except him. And he was definitely not TT-ing up this hill, this was stop and GO, lightweight climber's style.

Re: Re: I don't think it's fair to say this Vuelta has been 'easy' for riders. Most grand tours exist of 15 stages where as a GC rider you don't do anything. Maybe a kick up the finish for a few seconds here and there but nothing major. Yet, you'll feel the distance in your leg after three...

    Dumoulin.

What I find fascinating is his interviews. He talks like he doesn't have a clue why he is this strong. He looks like he's close to stop believing himself. Maybe his masseuse is secretly doping this guy, allowing plausible deniability.

    Doping In Athletics

Doping manual: You deny and hope it will pass. If there is no more denying, hope that it will come out in a fashion where 90% of your competitors are also accused so you can claim the strongest still won. Never be the first to admit. You'll be crucified while the rest of the dopers move on...

    Dumoulin.

Dumoulin's performance is not out of this world. He manages to push higher wattage on the steeper sections and manages 5.3/5.5 w/kg for a 30 to 40 minute climb. Somehow, the level of the competition is not very high. A MTF where Aru manages 5.8 for 25 minutes is lower than in this year's Giro...
