    Race Design Thread

Looking forward to the rest of La Vraie Course! Under current UCI rules, at 7 km, this would be a stage 1 ITT, not a prologue - prologues are limited to 4 km for the women. Silly, I know.

Lesser Known Road Racing for Women Thread

Hard to say, it's still very early days. However, I'd say there's nothing left of the old Virtu apparatus (on the women's side, at least). Maybe they'll buy some surplus team vehicles from what's left, but that's about it. As for Hitec, team manager Karl Lima commented on the news with: "This...

Teams & Riders The Great Big Cycling Transfers, Extensions, and Rumours Thread

He was wearing the 2018 Sunweb kit, even! So either this transfer has been coming for a really long time, or they picked that as it wasn't the red that Sunweb were going to be racing in this year (before they switched to white/black for the summer).

    MTBing in Transylvania?

Without having looked up prices, it's probably worthwhile to rent a bike locally. Depends on how often you've flown with a bike before, and how much hassle you find that in general, of course. Where in Transylvania are you looking at? It's not a small place. I know Sibiu well, there is good...

Lesser Known Road Racing for Women Thread

No. She's focusing on the track for Tokyo, racing for Twenty20 - and Twenty20 decided not to register with the UCI this year as they lost a sponsor, and the UCI registration didn't give the team much extra for what it cost.

Landslides could see Poggio removed from 2020 Milan San Remo

And remembering 2013, maybe not even that. ;)

Winning a major cobbled classic and a GT in one year?

Absolutely. The Tour is 21 days of a little bit of action each day, but normally just that little bit. And because it's 21 days, only a handful of people are actually able to win it, so you only have to watch these. The Ronde - any big classic, but the Ronde in particular - has more or less...

    New Forum! Feedback thread

I've gotten used to the new sub-forums by now. But can somebody please correct the title of the "Off Topic Discussions"? The double capitals ("DIscussions") hurt my pedantic eyes. ;)

    Transfers and Rumours 2018 > 2019

Re: Re: The name comes from some Dutch/Huguenot family that immigrated to the Cape in the 1600s (?), so they will be very, very, very distantly related. But they are not related in the sense that they invite each other to family gatherings.

Best and Worst National Champs jerseys

Re: Same with the Panamerican, Asian, or Oceanian champions. I think it's not because they don't count as 'elite' - it's simply because those federations don't really care about it. Partly because the continental champion will sometimes be from a team or nation that is racing in year-old...

    Transfers and Rumours 2017 > 2018

Re: http://www.directvelo.com/actualite/61731/julien-loubet-cherchait-un-autre-challenge He's not born in the French Basque Country, but he's lived there for two years now, and his child was born there.

Non-elite races World Championships Bergen 2017

This rule only applies to ITT & RR, not to TTT. In fact, it may not even apply to ITT-RR, but only to ITT-ITT & RR-RR: You're not allowed to enter both the elite and the U23 version in the same year, and once you've done the elite version, you're barred from the U23 version in the future (even...
