Re: Valverde has beaten GVA several times on a flat sprint. Eg: Ponferrada 14, AGR 15. He has also beaten Kwiatkowski on LBL 14 & AGR 14. In fact I can remember Kwiatkowski beating Valverde on AGR 15 but I cant remember GVA beating Valverde on an important sprint

Could he match Sagans 2016 performance?

Had Valverde prepared decently this race after the TdF, riding in Canada and Italian semiclassics, he would have won it for sure. Disgraceful season for him, throwing away his chances at 36 years old. Maybe he never finds this shape again.

Quintana wont drop tomorrow. He looked really strong. I dont think Froome or Quintana will drop each other so its probable that they ride conservatively and a little bunch arrives together at The top. Just as Plateau de Beille last year.
