    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

Does Pogacar have a beard? If not, why not? Does his body not grow beards? Is this a marginal gain, to not waste energy on growing beards?

Teams & Riders The Great Big Cycling Transfers, Extensions, and Rumours Thread

I have thought about this transfer too, but I can see him wanting to try at MSR every year for as long as he can maintain the level. Just like Pog. So maybe it gets a bit complicated at UAE

Tour de France Tour de France 2026 route rumours

I don't think it makes sense to think of TDF as a sports event. Or, to be precise, it is primarily a TV event - then there is a bit of sports in it, sure, but that's far from all that the TDF is about, I think it's primarily a vehicle for showing French sunflower fields on TV. Something like the...

Teams & Riders The Big 6

I like this way of looking at it as a big 2, with MVDP showing this year that he's final obstacle for Pog to completely dominate the big scene. Who knows for how long this can last, though, and so maybe next year already there's just a big one in cycling who wins all five monuments and TdF? I...

Teams & Riders The Big 6

I think the idea of the big six (from spring 2023) was that it was a small group of riders where, if only one of them started the race, you just knew (that is, pretty much 100 %) in advance that he'd win (or gift the race to Laporte). Important to keep this in mind in case someone tries to...

Teams & Riders The Great Big Cycling Transfers, Extensions, and Rumours Thread

They're looking for the elusive mystery man who can win Québec so UAE can finally do the Canadian double. Sometimes you need to scout a bit deeper since the merely obvious signings like Adam Yates for winning UAE Tour don't always pan out

    Most exciting wins of 2025?

Also the first wins of Scaroni, Astana fighting relegation was the most exciting thing in the early season

    Most exciting wins of 2025?

For a biased/fanboy pick, I found it exciting to see Alaphilippe pull it off at Québec

How To Say my name! Pronunciation thread

It's funny to me that Benji Naesen kept on correcting Patrick Broe whenever they discussed Paul Seixas on LRCP, due to Benji disagreeing with how Patrick is naturally bent on pronouncing "Seixas" in the "Portugese way". Patrick has realized that it'll ruin their podcast if they have to spend...

    Rider substitutions in stage races

This is a fun idea. I say that team size on final stage should 4, just because there's the possibility that a team wins yellow, points, KOM, and young rider classification with four distinct riders. Then it would be a shame to throw someone out. How big team start size should be, I don't know

    Rider substitutions in stage races

But imagine how silly would it be to look at INEOS subbing in Ganna and Tarling for a week 3 TT because they haven't won a stage? You could give late starters a time penalty, etc., but ultimately I think my more strict suggestion is better in line with Unzué thought

Don't know which other countries have good cobbles like Paris Roubaix, but that could make for an interesting, flat WC course

For 2026, I think Ayuso wins UAE Tour and no races other than that
