Should Sky have waited when Valverde fell?

If it's the instance I saw on television, that was quite some time after the crash - long after the echelons had formed. And if we are talking about the same instance, it begs the question, why did it take so much time for him to get up to talk to Flecha? With all those echelons on the road, Sky...

2012 Vuelta a España: Stage 4:Barakaldo-Estación de Valdezcaray 160.6 Km

Why should Sky wait? They had already upped the tempo prior to the crash plus it was Movistar, ie the team that had to be forced to wait up in the TDS when the railway barrier came down,

    Olympic Road Race Men

I don't disagree. Team GB are a one trick pony and need greater flexibility. My point wasn't about Sky not getting help (I wasn't expecting it) but the suggestion that Germany were "all in" in helping Sky. That was patently not the case as evidenced by Tony Martin saving himself for the ITT.

    Olympic Road Race Men

He gave up half way round the course. He was sat on his *** in the tent whilst the rest of the GB guys were riding an extra 100k. That's hardly "all-in". One cannot compare Germany's effort to GB.

Yorkshire bid for 2016 Tour de France start

My memory from the discussion on Eurosport during the tour was a start in Leeds for the first stage with a finish on the coast in Scarborough (scenic castle for the 'coptor shots) via the Dales or Moors (don't remember which) and a second stage starting in York and finishing in the south of the...

    Wiggins Discussion thread.

More tin foil hat wearing. Are races with lot's of MTF's practically made for Contador? Contador returns for the Vuelta, he's Spanish and the parcours is described as: nudge-nudge, wink-wink

Tour de France: Stage 20 Rambouillet - Paris Champs-Élysées 120km

Thankfully Geraint Thomas will be racing again once these Olympics are done and there's a better rapport there. But you are right - EBH and Cav do not look great together. I've also seen a rumour about Renshaw coming to Sky. Don't know how true that is (if at all).

    "Tour de Bore"

I'm sorry but this is overly alarmist. The quickest way to destroy cycling is for cycling to close itself off to new fans as you are suggesting. And resting your hopes on Alberto with his clinic related issues - that's taking cycling back in to the dark ages that every serious cycling fan should...

Tour de France: Stage 20 Rambouillet - Paris Champs-Élysées 120km

And for that I say Bravo!! (and mean it sincerely).

Tour de France: Stage 20 Rambouillet - Paris Champs-Élysées 120km

I have no problem with a whole variety of views. What I object too is the blatant bigotry involved in knocking British cycling fans and the incredibly illogical attempts to put down what was an obvious outstanding cycling performance by a team. saying that you don't like Sky's approach is...

Teams & Riders Mark Cavendish Discussion Thread

I will when Sean Kelly does. As for the WC's, I did say effectively and David Millar was the only non-Sky rider supporting Cav. Do you know this for a fact? And how is winning three stages and helping a rider win the Yellow being disrespectful to the World Champs jersey? As for the Green...
