Milan San Remo, March 21, 2026, 298 km monument

You can see the chase group making huge gains right before the poggio and the finish line, both places where Pog was prepping his attacks. And he pulled like 80% of the way, at least. Not sure how much more obvious it could be that he was not riding at an optimal pace i.e. what you'd do in a TT.

He did what he had to do and it worked. I'm only responding to the weird remark that the others would have improved their chances by letting him go.

Tbh they slowed Pog down by being in his wheel, forcing pog to take it easy before poggio and before the sprint so he could beat them there. If Pog just straight TTs, the gap is bigger at the end.

Milan San Remo, March 21, 2026, 298 km monument

Last year ganna closed the gap when Pog attacked and mvdp got a relatively free ride. This year ganna blew and mvdp had to close a gap to cover the nuclear attack. From that point on he looked like he was on the back foot. So a little bit of both it seems. When he was dropped early on the...

    Tirreno-Adriatico 2026 March 9-15

Pelizari not as gapped as it seemed like he would be. With the sprint he showed the last days it feels like he should have just waited for the finale and bonifications Jorgie played it cool until it mattered then lead deltoro out. Guess he was gunning for 2nd gc. Strong ride from Jan christen...

    Juan Ayuso discussion thread

That happened to me once and two weeks later they said it was broken after all (hairline fracture of greater trochanter)

Luke Lamperti (just his name no "next" no other rider's name (e.g. Sagan) and no "thread")

The media coverage of his win today is a bit disrespectful imo. Focusing on how rivals were boxed in or ran out of room. Obviously if you just sit in the wheels the whole time you will have more left when it's too late to matter.

Teams & Riders Matteo Jorgenson and his inexorable rise to the top

Unfortunately for him I don't think many underrate him enough to give him much leash, and he's a bit too easy to draft. He would need to be in a situation where the presence of a Wout or Brennan freezes rivals.

    Paris-Nice 2026, March 8-15

No way that was just a bad decision. He didn't have confidence in his legs. Lamperti did benefit a bit from several riders dropping anchor near the front. His lead out, zingle, Plowright.. but that's why you fight to be near the front.

Paul Seixas: Tour de France Winner 2031

Riccitello way too small to be an ideal dom. He would not even make the tour team at UAE and probably not visma, maybe edging Kuss based on form but not if both at peak. Felix Gall on the other hand, if he can figure out how to descend...

    Strade Bianche 2026, March 7, one-day race

I fear Pidcock has wasted too many of his good years by racing too few road classics and focusing on MTB, and now he's outclassed by the new generation of mega talents. Like Roglic, a big talent for whom the door slammed shut just by way of the level rising around him. Perhaps it is not a...

    Strade Bianche 2026, March 7, one-day race

I expected seixas and del Toro to appear in the background of pog's victory celebrations they were lingering in it so long. Feel like I wasted my time watching this to the end with the hopes of watching the fight for second.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2026, February 28

Love this headline from the mis-translation machine that is Cycling-uptodate, > “He wasn’t allowed to work with Mathieu” – Red Bull - BORA master tactics secure Tim van Dijke podium at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad So brilliant, right up there with "keep the rubber side down" and "remember to eat"
