    What bike is wiggins on?

My guess is that Millar will ride his Cervelo. The Sky guys will be on the BC bikes because the Pinarello sucks. It's heavy and requires really exotic components to reach 6.8, like integrated seat/seat post combos. I've heard that the Sky-guys are not happy with it. Wonder what Wigans will...

    Phil and Paul

Just watched the 2005 Tour again. 30 seconds after Valverde won stage 10 ahead of Armstrong Phil talks about how this is Armstrong's 22nd stage win. Could they be more biased if they tried?

    Doping in XC skiing

A general note about the russians: They are by no means lazy, I've never said that. I have been on training camps living next to the russians and their are indeed hard working. Their problem is the mentality in their group. I've seen young female skiiers being forced out training when they...

    Doping in XC skiing

First of all, you clearly don't know anything about skiing. Roller skiing performance is in no way predicative of skiing performance as the techniques are completely different. Big difference between snow and tarmac, summer and winter. Secondly, Bjoergen is a loner? She's been on national...

Renshaws non selection in Worlds Team?

Why does everybody talk about the worlds as a 260 km race?? It's 280 km this year, that's loooong no matter how you look at it...

    Liggettisms TDF 2011

Paul did his tire pressure-BS again today. But the day's favorite from Phil: "After 16 stages of racing even I can recognize the riders". Good to see he has some self-insight

    Liggettisms TDF 2011

Paul today: "When the weather is nice, the riders will push their tire pressure up to a 110 psi, which is extremely high. When the weather is bad, they will drop the pressure to 70 psi, which is still pretty high" What?! Is he just randomly making up numbers now?

The official CBS 60 minutes thread

This whole thing is reminding me of Der Untergang. Seems like Public Strategies is running out of talent and their artillery is now manned by 14 yo kids.

    How much doping really helps?

Don't have the time to find them now, but look at http://www.cyclismag.com. They have plenty of those calculation. Not exactely what I was looking for, but you get the idea. First graph: http://www.sportsscientists.com/2009/07/tour-de-france-2009-power-estimates.html

    How much doping really helps?

I believe that Epo gives a 10-15% gain. By that I mean that it can take a rider from 6.0watt/kg to 6.6-6.9w/kg, which is pretty consistent with the power numbers(calculations) I have seen from the 90's. The point here: 6.0->6.6 is 10% performance gain, however it will not translate to 10% faster...

    Interesting Pinotti Interview

That's the sad thing. No rider can really prove they're clean, they can only be proven dirty.

Why doesn't the booing of dopers get reported?

I remember when I was in Albi in 2007. Incredible amount of booing towards Rasmussen at the start of the TT. From memory, there was a lot of booing when he won at Col d'Aubisque as well. I think it was reported in the media. Must have been unpleasant for the sponsor(if they knew about it). Don't...
