Check out the Wheelbuilders thread. http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=4472 Good advice there, they'll probably recommend Velocity A23's

    The Cyclones?

They've been the Cyclones as long as I can remember, probably just known as the Australian team before that. Hazard a guess that 'Cyclones' has something to do with being a similar sounding word to 'cycling'. Not all teams are named after marsupials either. Mens hockey are Kookaburras...

    Random Wheelsuckers

I've had a bike shop group catch up to me at traffic lights. I go off at my pace, which is faster than their designated speed. Some latched on, one guy, seemed to be a group leader, rides up next to me then starts on a rant 'If you want to ride at 40, go with the 40 (km\h) group' and a bit more...

Things in sports (other than drugs) that need to result in bans

On the diving in soccer, the ref should have the right to assume the player is injured, get him stretchered off, and now allow him to return to the field until he has been medically cleared. This should take at least 15 minutes.

    Aero Question

Unless the wind speed is greater than your own speed, in the same direction (vector addition and whatnot), you will be faster in the tuck. That said, air drag is proportional to relative wind speed squared, so with a tailwind of say 20kph compared to still air, your 'airspeed' will be say...

The importance of crank length to the cyclist.

I'm wondering if anyone can find a scientific study which proves that round wheels are better than square ones?

The importance of crank length to the cyclist.

The opportunity and equipment cost of testing an equipment change with as much variability as crank length is huge, and is likely a factor as to why such testing has never been conducted to a degree which would come to a significant conclusion. The experiment would require testing a range of...

Are Brits and Americans at a disadvantage ?

This is frankly disrespectful of the majority of athletes. Some of my closest friends are at the pointy end of Olympic events, one of them won a rowing world title last week. There is no chance that these people are using illegal PEDs. Caffeine tablets, Bicarb and the like, are used in...

The importance of crank length to the cyclist.

Going back over a year now, but the AIS were using adjustable cranks to test crank length. I don't know what the results were like, or even if they were significant. It seemed they were looking at it from an individual basis, rather than trying to find trends.

The importance of crank length to the cyclist.

Could well be it, but not certain. Does sort of imply that crank length is important.

The importance of crank length to the cyclist.

Cant find the posts, but a while back there was something about the Australian and British Cycling Federations using powercranks, but Fergies contacts not knowing about it. I know for a fact, as I've held the things in my own hands, that the AIS track program is using cranks with variable...
