    Is UAE Over the Top?

How long do you think? The Pharmstrong train was derailed only after a disgruntled passenger who was kicked off started making a ruckus. Ripper says there's no incentive for others to speak up due to repercussions, and I completely agree. As long as people are making coin, there's no need to...

    Is UAE Over the Top?

Apparently Isaac del Toro lost the wheel because he had stomach problems since arriving in Rwanda seven days ago. That's gotta hurt. Yet he managed to drop everyone and hitch a ride with Pogi-motocar after 160 km's of racing. I hope he enjoyed the spectacle before going poopy in his pants...

    Is UAE Over the Top?

It's kinda fun when you see it as comedy. Pogacar launching from 100 km and taking his side-kicks along for a ride before bidding them farewell is funny, but maybe that's just me. Guy should have charged them for taking a tour around the city before dropping them off at their destination.

Fair enough. But again, we're straying from the point about doping.

    Is UAE Over the Top?

Sure, some riders earn a handsome salary; that is not in dispute. But those salaries dwarf those of domestiques -- i.e. pack fillers. I live in Canada, so I'll use a hockey analogy. A fourth line player on an NHL team makes more money in a season than pretty much the entire team of domestiques...

    Is UAE Over the Top?

del Toro is a kid who came out of nowhere, and Wellens is an old workhorse. Salaries for professional cyclists are a mere pittance compared those in big-time sports. If anything, salary caps need to be assessed from the bottom up. Introducing a salary cap in a non-unionized sport would lower the...

    Is UAE Over the Top?

In case you missed it, today in Montreal Pogacar dropped everyone before soft-pedaling to wait for McNulty to catch up and hitch a ride for the last 12 km's or so before being gifted the win. McNulty didn't do a single turn the entire time. We're talking Mapei levels of over-the-top here.

Teams & Riders Israel Premier Tech

Hey, wait! They recruited and groomed the Canadian sensation Derek Gee! Or at least they did before he decided to bounce.

Teams & Riders Israel Premier Tech

I don't get the Zabel reference and why it made you laugh. I do get your point about IPT showing up and racing at other events, which just highlights the lack of cohesion or protocol of UCI and race organizers. I don't know what's going on in the minds of these people, but surely there have...

Race interference: Protests, Sabotage, and Assaults

RR: You make it seem like a popularity contest. No one's running for king/queen of the prom here. You're leaving out the severity and overall effect of actions taking place. Netserk asked a legit question about how authorities should react to protests, and people have replied. We're seven...

Race interference: Protests, Sabotage, and Assaults

Who is the lame-ass guy who was too dumb to correctly calculate his attempt to do a kamikaze mission by taking out the peloton? Looks like he just woke up from a drug haze and was freaked out by the on-coming riders. Has anyone identified him? Is he related to the Omi Opi person? Who knows...

Race interference: Protests, Sabotage, and Assaults

I never said "all protests good." There are nuances that can only be resolved by talking, not banning. I answered Netserk's question -- i.e. remove a team from a race. Everything else happened organically.

Race interference: Protests, Sabotage, and Assaults

The most optimistic lesson I've learned during my time here on earth is that protest works. Think about how far we have come as a society. Advances in human rights are mainly due to public pressure. It's the only thing non-elected people have in a democratic society to metaphorically slap the...
