Riders will face strong headwind in the final part of time trial. It will favour Thomas. Let's not forget he has beaten Kwiatkowski in Algarve and was pretty close to Martin. 4,5% avg climb should suit him perfectly. If Porte is able win the race so is Thomas.

Pinot seems to be in very good shape but the question is how will will cope with bad weather. Contador will try to attack earlier. First because he needs to take time on Poels (and Uran before TT), second because I doubt Tinkoff will force Kreuziger to set the pace, they will try to keep him in...

Meersman is not a classic rider. He can win uphill finish in stage race but he doesn't have any record in real classics afaik. Somehow he finished 3rd in CSS once but I guess it was just an exception.

Maybe a little bit wishful :) but he was 8th in Roubaix and 10th in Flandres last year, I think we may call him one of many favorities (like 10-15 top names).
