I had Contador above Froome since June last year. But Andalucia shifted it back to Froome.

2. Froome & Contador
3. Quintana
4. Valverde
5. Nibali & Uran

If Martinelli sends Aru to the Vuelta, he normally should take the victory there surely. Certainly he's gonna be runner-up at the Giro. Contador should win the Giro, but probably finish 3rd - 5th at the Tour. Froome or Quintana are likely to win the yellow jersey. Neither of them is guaranteed to ace Valverde for 2nd at the Vuelta afterwards.

So in that scenario, the little angel should have the best palmares at season end. That's why he tops my list!

It's amazing how some riders get so much credit (Talansky, Porte) while others that have proven their worth multiple times get (almost) no mention (Hesjedal, Rolland, JVDB, etc.). Porte is 30 years old and has finished inside the top-10 of a GC once in his carreer (in 2010), for crying out loud.

I decided to make my very own very unscientific study using CQ ranking.

I tested the "big 4" using a method of counting all CQ points earned in the last three years in GT's, tripling the points earned in 2014 and doubling the ones earned in 2013 to make newer results count more.

It turns out that Nibali is pretty much the boss:

Nibali: 8466
Froome: 5507
Contador: 4783
Quintana: 4602

Edit: Valverde scored 5958

Shouldn't it only be GC points? Otherwise someone like Kittel or Sagan will score more than someone like Fuglsang I think.
