Good to see he will be racing here and at Lombardia, Would be cool to see him pull off a decent performance. Have my doubts that he will do anything though.

Actually he seems to have already abandoned….

Andy Schleck will ride this and Lombardy. Said a while ago that he hopes to end the season on a good note. Was fine in Colorado but abandoned in Canada, with no explanation given by the team. Little racing due to lack of funding for the team
He got dropped in both races, due to not being good enough. At least he was of value in the pre-race press conference, and during the race when the cameras registered his every fart.

Well that was weird. I was following the race on twitter and with 1 km to go Majka, Pellizotti and Pozzovivo had 15". Then Contador attacked with Valverde and Moreno it said and then Ulissi came out of nowhere to grab the win:confused:

yup thats what the ticker said.

Ore 15.18 Triangolo rosso.

Break remnant? Wouldn't expect him to be up there on a MTF

Why not? Superga isn't a mountain anyway, but the guy finished top-4 in the Tour, and won tough mountain stages. He's probably a better climber than Ulissi.

I guess I always think of him as an attacking breakaway rider that likes mountainous terrain rather than an explosive climber one would expect to find in the top 10 on a mountain (or hill if you prefer) top finish.

The guy who finished in front of him is more of a surprise.

Is he? Look at his palmares from 2008 (the italian races at the end of the year). In 2009 he was good aswell at the end of the year, although the results show it not as much as the ones from 2008. Then in 2010 he did the Vuelta as a domestic, and got 6th in Piemonte after the Vuelta. In 2011 he again had decents results at the end of the year (not as good as before though). In 2012 he didnt have a team, and he did some mountainbiking.
Now in 2013 he is again strong at the end of the year 17th Agostini, 14th in Memorial Marco Pantani (terrain doesnt suit him), 5th in stage 1 of Settimina Lombarda, 16th in stage 2 and 2nd in stage 3, 9th overall. Then he took 8th in Costa Degli Etruschi after a strong race.

He is a good 1-day racer, but I always thought of him as a good finisher who can get over hills.

Getting a 7th on this finish in this company is a very good result for him.
