I was riding into work this morning on my Vespa and took my hand off the bar to point out a large fallen tree branch on the road like I was in a paceline. :p

Your suppose to be taking notes in class but instead you find yourself formulating a response to a hot topic on the cyclingnews forum.

Belgium is the one where they watch races in bars ;)

plenty of Vlaamse bars in Amsterdam, and a few big sports bars with several tv's.
Belgium is the one where you register for races in bars ;)

I had a small crash yesterday morning and I got asked if I was ok, and I looked at my bike and said, 'yeah it's fine', which was followed up if I was ok, and said the same thing without looking to see if I had actually hurt myself.

Sadly I had that same experience this morning. The motor bike rider who stopped to ask if I was ok laughed in a understanding manner when i said "it" was fine.

I continue to shave my legs after a crash takes me out for 3-4 weeks. Over the rash and contusions.

That is very cool, a close second is they start making your drink as you enter the door so by the time you pay its ready :) even when I've thought of ordering something else I can't turn that kind of service down.

I tape the races that occur while I'm at work to watch them once i'm back. During that time, I avoid to check cycling websites, social media or the race-related thread on the forum so I don't know the results by mistake. I'm gonna do that for GP E3-Harelbeke today ;)

I have a friend who does that to me often. So I also avoid answering his phonecalls.

All the work it takes to avoid the news too: I dont log in here, I dont read texts from buddies etc and someone finds a way... Tour season is the worst. thats when friends and acquaintances who do not share your interest have a little commonality for 3 weeks and slip with the results or you are driving down the road listening to Jim Rome and the news (which never covers cycling) gives result.

Think that is bad, we were having dinner with some friends and talking about the new season of Game of Thrones... well this couple read every book and assumed our interest in the show was an invitation to tell us what happens to every character thorough the entire series. couldnt finish my meal

I'm dwelling in this sub-forum as I know there is no risk of knowing GP E3 results :p

/true story/

This one goes out to Hitch - thanks for your suggestions.

You have a long lay-over in the city you've never been in before, so you go out of the airport, and while you're checking out the beautiful old town, all you keep thinking is "God, what would I give right now to trade my co-worker for my Cannondale for a couple hours"
