did i say i want to see him "suck wheels the whole way through"? I like pozzato. It's true, he has on almost all occasions sucked wheels. Only like 3 times in his entire career has he chosen different tactics, all this exaggerated pippo-bashing lately is part of the reason I cheer for him, i'll admit.

Fixed it for you

I love how all these riders think they can go top 10 when only 1 or 2 of them will actually be correct.

I am hoping for something different than last year.

Fair enough. I will be cheering for Hincapie (right up until he is dropped, crashes, flats at the wrong time, whatever the poison is this year.) Then I will likely move to anyone but Canc or Pozzato.

I actually feel bad for BMC. The Ballan thing is unfortunate, and definitely puts a damper on things a bit, but still, its Roubaix.

18:15 and will finish at 00:47 (mon). TV Coverage should start @ 22:20

Not bad then. I think the coverage will start around 5:45am or so here. I will probably wake up at 6:30 or so and start watching.

that would be ten of them, no?

yes but the riders who actually fill the top 10 talk about winning or finishing on the podium;)

I actually don't want Ballan to win now. He was one of my favourites so its a shame.:(

Have no fears, we will have options. Even if everything breaks down for the US (it won't), we can do a proxy server in a geo restricted country and watch anyway. A guy I ride with was talking about watching it tomorrow night in a bar here (cool that a bar here is showing it, but TOMORROW NIGHT???) I asked him why he didn't watch on the computer. He said he wants to watch with friends. I told him to get some electronic friends, and watch the stream...I don't have to buy a round for you guys. Its a brilliant thing.

If its anything as good as last week we will be useless to you. As i recall there were like 30 posts a minute at several points. When JV did his "Dont attack" piece there were 3 whole pages of nothing else but half the posters (myself included) trying to be the first react to the incident. As it happens I was last.

By the end i was just posting random crap and not reading anything as there was just way too much.

Having said that, if there I can get a stream I will watch it with the forum, but if there isnt I am willing to wait 2 weeks till I get home, trying not to have it spoilt, staying off the forum if need be, and watch it all from scratch the day before Liege.

You have far better impulse control than do I. I think the feeds will be plentiful. Last year, I was on my way back from a DC family vacation, and had to watch on my iphone. The cool thing was that I could watch it on my iphone!

I love it so much, I will have 3 computers going (though one will be dedicated to writing a paper on 18 U.S.C. 201(c)(1)(B)). One on the race, the other on the race thread. Great group of people who post here on race days. Even the people I despise otherwise become interesting on race threads. (Cobblestoned, you might pi$$ me off otherwise, but your insight on races is generally excellent.) Cant wait!
just 1 computer usually but thanks I may fire up the laptop.
coverage should start here at 4am. not a problem my usual wake up time
This is pretty typical during a race for me

Live coverage 7:20AM here (looks that way at the moment at least.) Have some dedicated friends coming over to scream at the TV and drink a nice microbrew or three. As always it's the one Sunday morning of the year the neighbors have to wonder just what in the hell is going on over here! Just one laptop, so a quick forum check then hook it up to the flat screen and kick back for 3 hours of pure bliss.

Would love to see 5-8 guys still together at the Carrefour, Fabo go to the front and just see how hard he can shake the tree. Better yet, FC chasing back from 45 seconds after an incident of some sort.. that would be a nail biter. I wouldn't mind seeing him win; just hope it's not another 50k solo. And I want to see Big George in the final! Whatever happens, though, it's all great. It's Paris-Damn-Roubaix time!!!!!!!!! :D

Completely worth the second computer. One on full screen race, and the other on the thread. Its loads of fun following the thread, though Hitch is right, when something big happens, you get multiple pages really quickly, and keeping up is hard. But still, worth it.

I'm an idiot, I booked arj barker tickets a few weeks ago for tonight, I didn't even take into account that it was the same night at P-R :(
I'll have to record it (but it's a shame, cause I like watching the classics while keep track of the thread).

actually boonen at pr 9.00 is awesome odds. never seen such good odds for him here.

Langeveld has ridiculous good odds.

Where is that from ACF? The best I can find for Boonen is 7.50 at Bet365 which I am happy with.

Not sure why quite a few books have Hushovd shorter than him.

Edit: Got him at 8.60 at Betfair.

yeah I saw him @ 7.00 on sporting bet and was already tempted.

never discount boonen here. Those odds are really good.

----

anyway, I'm actually gonna go left field (cause any non-Spartacus pick is left field right :p) and say Hushovd saves Garmin's spring.

1. God of Thunder
2. Spartacus
3. Flecha

I hope langeveld can do a good ride.

I'm going with Cancellara

But Hushovd, Flecha, Boonen and Langeveld will be up there.

Cancellara dominated E3, He dominated Flanders. He only got caught at Flanders because the peloton consisted of 50 riders and there is no way anyone could ride away from that.

The peloton will be small, very small towards the end of the race and Cancellara has the form to time trial away from everyone like last year.

Hushovd and Flecha will probably finish second and third like last year.

Delieriously tired, haven't read one post in this thread yet, but have to make at least one contribution before crashing for a few hours.

The Leonardo Duque watch is on!

110403-Leonardo-Duque-233x300.jpg

Somebody wake me for the start of the live stream...

Cancellara should win if he's on the same form as last week.

He will be hungrier, the peloton will not regroup like it did in Flanders (we are more likely to have a situation like last year), and he will be good enough to TT away at some stage. More or less what Sasquatch said above.

I just hope for something exciting.
