...Bjerg, arguably the biggest time trial talent we've seen probably since Cancellara.

Because year in, year out we see all these laughable Danish and Norwegian riders destroy everything everywhere and then proceed to do absolutely remotely nothing in the professional level. I thought we had hit rock bottom, but this Bjerg guy absolutely takes the cake.

I really want last 280 meter power numbers from all of the sprinters here to compare with the Giro ones.

Power output doesn't really tell the whole story though, someone like Greipel will always be generating a much higher wattage than say Cavendish but that doesn't mean he rode a faster sprint.

Wow. Sean Bennett can do everything. He finished inside top 20 on a stage with big climb, 2nd on the hilly stage and now 6th in a pancake flat sprint. What is more, he was also 7th in U-23 Tour of Flanders this year.

Can't wait to see him in WT and being mistaken with Sam Bennett as if having him and George Bennett wasn't enough to confuse some people already.

Easy win for Gaviria again. Hope Cav and Kittel will get it right and at least compete for the stage win at one point.

Going to watch the stage tonight, I think it will be a great stage with an all out attack from Bernal alá Romandie. I doubt TJ can do what Roglíc did. Nay, I refuse to believe it.

Absolutely true, but it does give you quite a lot of information, particularly when you have the ability to compare the same rider in different races.

Not exactly the hardest climb, but oh well.

I'm getting to bed. But before I go I'll throw out a wild guess and say...

Kittel.

Well, so much for that.

And my prediction for the Giro stage was Viviani... think I'll just stop trying to predict winners; seems like I jinx them.
Don't! Otherwise we wouldn't know who not to pick :D

But yeah, predictions are tough, specially about the future.

I'm feeling pretty confident in saying Kittel won't win tonight's stage.

I believe TJ can hang on. It's a big, windy, American road, and a rather shallow climb (6.1% average). Sky would need Geoghegan Hart to shatter the field and get rid of every BMC domestique for Bernal to have a chance of making his attack stick. Last time up there, in 2016, Restrepo won the sprint in a big favourites' group behind the breakaway, who got the stage.

2016 didn't have Daggett Summit though. I expect Dani Martinez and EF Education also to fight for GC and thus against TJ.

You're right. Forget about Restrepo and the bunch. The CN live ticker compared the two stages and predicted the same outcome, so I sort of assumed the climb was in back then, too.

But it might still not be enough to get rid of TJ.

Warning. Stupid question ahead.

Do they not livestream the race on their own website this year?
Depends on where you are in the world. The legendary Tour Tracker has been blocked in Europe, presumably by Eurosport.
http://tracker.amgentourofcalifornia.com/
Doesn't it work in Spain?
Nah, not for me at least. It's on Eurosport here and I think they wanted full exclusive on this one as well (this is just an educated guess though), making the Tour Tracker completely unavailable in Europe.
