who said Lopez wasn't explosive haha
Uphill sprint on climbs like this aren't about being explosive at all. They're about how much you have left first, ability second.

Yeah, Astana will be a force to be reckoned with. Pure climbers Hirt and Lopez will create havoc, Bilbao, LLS, Zeits etc. will provide excellent help, 2015 all over again, but this time only with one leader.

You never know, maybe Hirt can be the new Landa

Do not judge that fast. First Froome is aiming a double, so I think his level should a bit lower still. Second MAL is great but we've seen him finish just one GT. Even in the Vuelta he was pretty vulnerable in the trickier stages or Murito-like finishes. He is a top-class climber but to be a GT winner requires a lot more things. still a lonh way ahead, but surely with that Astana form and team the race is gonna be exciting. In the other hand we have TomD.

Froome's form will be fine. But it's the question if that's gonna be enough. He had bad days both in the Tour and the Vuelta last year, and if he gets one at bad moment it could be game over.

This Giro light on TT'ing so he'll have little room to play with compared to the other GC contenders. And he will have to drop Dumoulin at least once.

But on the other hand, Dumoulin's form so far this year has been non-existant. Who knows what sort of shape he'll be in.

Actually you are wrong. Dumoulin had really good legs in Abu Dhabi.. In the TT he was leading until bad luck. In the mountain stage he had just closed the gap on Valverde after the first attack, and then his brake was pushing against the rear wheel..

In Strade he was slightly ill, in Tirreno ill and crashed. In MSR he was good but not positioned enough on the front to do something.

So yeah, no results, but form wasn´t bad.

He did not. He was on the front pulling for Kelderman for some time, then he stopped, and about 500-1000m further he had that problem with his bike. Formolo closed that gap by the way...

Astana riding for their lives.........nice win. Aru and Bennett dropped early. Froome went tricycle momentarily and it looked like Tour 2013/15 again but the gap didn't open up much. The top five riders at the finish all looked pretty good with later races in mind.

Sosa, an upcoming Fleche Wallone winner?

There is something about him that reminds me of Purito but he is still young.. so we don't know yet.

Bennett wasn't gapped that early actually. Aru was distanced before him but rode his own tempo. Meanwhile Bennett hang on with the favorites, until he was completely shattered and had to let go Aru as well!

Sosa is the rider in the white shirt? First time ever I see him.
Talented climber, accrording to the team he doesn't have the same lab values as Berrnal, but Bernal, who used to train a lot with him, always said that he's really strong.
Aru rode at his own pace, he'll be finee at the Giro.
Bennett really cracked at one point, Ciccone was able to hang on and should be able to ride a great Giro.
What's wrong with Torres? Usually he's a lot better.
