I think that would have been exactly the reason for talking about it. To reassure his teammates that they could do everything needed to prepare properly to shepherd Lance to victory. Heras, Beltran, Landis, Hamilton, did they really all start doping only after they left Lance's team?

Bingo. It's like one kid offering another kid his first hit off a joint.

"C'mon dude, it's cool. No one will ever find out. I smoke weed all the time and my folks have no clue!"

It's pathetic that we aren't hearing voices from within the sport putting pressure on the UCI. I do think the sport has gone in the right direction with the biopassport but there will still be a huge credibility gap until McQuaid and puppetmaster Hein are gone for good. Will this even effect his re-election in 2 1/2 years? The last 20 years of the UCI have seen it screw up the doping issue, hastily create the flawed Pro Tour and now possibly spawn a breakaway circuit. The Mcbruggen experiment has failed, it's long past time for some reasonable management.

Exactly.

The silence is deafening.

Team managers, past champions, NSO's, IOC representatives? This cannot be a surprise to anyone.

No comment from anyone? Is the sport that corrupt? That boggles even my imagination.

Where is that open letter from Navigator's Ray Cipollini now ("There are cheaters in cycling ... We need to stop attacking our own, until we know for a fact that they have cheated")? You know, the same guy that tried to state that now lifetime banned Kirk O'Bee had not tested positive. Who did Kirk used to ride for?

Ray, you still owe me a steak dinner for accepting your challenge and refuting your claim. But, you owe the sport even more. Please admit your deceptions.

There was no problem complaining about doping control after OP. What about complaints on how Lance Armstong has destroyed your credibility?

Are you all liars and cheats as Hamilton has said? Or, have you all provided testimony to the GJ already?

There is a long list of ex-7-11, Motorola, USPS, Disco riders that have claimed cleanliness. No statement becomes an indictment. Better to admit than pretend.

Dave.

I wonder if the UCI in its zeal is overlooking the fact that both Tyler and Floyd are only repeating what they were told by Lance. The UCI's case, if any, would be against LANCE not Tyler and/or Floyd. I'm also curious when they will sue the former lab director since it is his purported affidavit that breathes real life into Lance's allegations.

This is what hairsplitting looks like:

I apologize if this way off topic, but you seem schooled in the law, or at least you have convinced the people at work that, what the he1l penalties does Lance actually realistically face?

I am no legal expert, but if there is no audio recording, or documents at the lab/UCI to prove what Landis, or Hamilton are alleging (that Lance and the UCI covered up a positive test), then it is Lance's word, against Hamilton and Landis. Probably not enough evidence for a conviction in itself.

They need some other evidence to prove it. I (unfortunately) suspect that the UCI will skate on this.

Still, it is a confirmation to many of us that the UCI is corrupt, and treats different riders differently.

Doc's point was quote compelling, if you ask me, only for you not to understand.

I asked Polish earlier, and I'll ask you: what did LA do to you that makes you feel the need to stand up for the guy?
if he's been lying/doping all those years, why would do care so much? (don't both answering, by the way).
Really I would have thought that by now you would have worked out that for Polish and Cobblestoned it is more about mischief making in the Clinc.

I wonder if the Lausanne lab would have retained the IEF gel image? They were using a ccd camera for documentation I think. If it were still stashed away on some hard drive somewhere it might be 'interesting' to have alook at :D
