I wonder if Bertagnolli made a solo move on the climb and was caught by Gilbert, because he really shouldn't be able to beat the likes of Breschel and Pozzato in a sprint.

It probably wasn't much of a sprint... Bertagnolli is quite good at short uphill kicks like this one.

Yeah, Gilbert is the Cavendish of short uphill finishes, and apparently he has the same kind of narcotic effect on the peloton.
