And I don't believe Radioshack, they are all so super duper strong all of a sudden.
I'm not buying it. I'm not buying it that an old fart like Horner can drop Valverde, Gesink and Sanchez like that

But Horner couldn't put in the killer blow-he got caught and didn't even place in the sprint to the line.

As for how Horner can drop Valverde, Gesink and Sanchez like that-you obviously don't believe in cycling. And I feel sorry for you that you don't. :D:D:D

Intxausti and Peraud are 5th and 6th

Great job by Peraud he can climb and time trial interesting. Intxausti he has potential but he's not there yet with the likes of Valv, Gesink and Sanchez yet

I was about to complain about wheelsucker Valverde, when all of a sudden he pretty much closed the gap to Sanchez/Horner by himself.

Only because he saved energy sitting on Gesink's wheel all the way up

Probably good for Gesink that he was with Valverde on the chase down. Helps to have a guy with you who knows how to bridge the gap downhill. Not sure if Gesink on his own would have bridged it. He looked to be on the edge of clamping on several times.

Gesink really needs to ride a little smarter... he probably could have done what Horner did, but he took it on himself to pull for almost the entire climb.

Peraud is 33 seconds back on today's stage
Intxausti same time

Hmmmmm.... Seems like a tall order to make all of that up on all three. If he wants to have a chance at the GC he'd better not lose anymore tomorrow.

Horner was very strong in last year's Pais Vasco as well, only he had to work for Contador. On this very climb, he was pulling, then disappeared from the front, only to return when he found out that there wasn't anyone else taking initiative.

Ofcourse, jumping out someone's wheel you've been in for kilometers to close a gap is not that hard, sorry. But it was shameless. But Valverde is always that way.
Always counting on his sprint and sucking all the way.

When is the last time we saw an actual attack by Valverde without trying to profit as much as possible from teammates or opponents?

Gesink looked like a blind squirrel on jet skis on that descent. He came close to losing it about three times.

No, he doesn't have the explosiveness, this is what Gesink is good at, riding a hard pace for kilometers without looking back.
He is like Basso and Ullrich that way. You can't become what you are not.
Besides, he is still 23, riding a lot in front only makes him stronger

Well, given that he carried Valv up the hill, it seems only fair that Valv could return the favor.

You are talking nonsense. It was a 2% downhill and Valverde literally sprinted out of his wheel to close the gap and try to drop Gesink, who was at his limit after leading the entire climb. Try to sprint after that.

Yeah. Sorry Isso, but that is bull...

Horner v Valv v Gesink for the win in the TT should be good... None of those guys is clearly better than the others.

Shouldn't look past tomorrow though... Sh!t could still happen/

Intxausti placed well in the crit international tt

Peraud is also a good tter as well. As they lost 25-30 seconds today though i guess that is too much to make up to Horner? They could threaten valv and gesink though

LOL at the description. I'll never be able to look at him descending again without picturing this :D

I have to agree. No idea what Isso is talking about. Gesink looked spent, but in control.

Neither does Horner.

How good is Horners TT? Is he able to threaten Gesink and Valverde in this very difficult hilly TT? Personally I think it now goes between Gesink and Valverde, like I thought in the beginning of this race. It will be very close I think

Just think that he wouldn't have bridged the gap on his own strength today. So as much as you dislike Valverde, I think he got a hand more than a hindrance there.

Peraud is defintely not out of it... But 33 seconds is a significant gap given that the TT also has some serious climbing.

I don't know why you clearly rate Horner's TTing higher than Gesink's or Valv's though.... In the 2008 Basque Tour Gesink placed higher than Horner on the final TT (5th for Gesink, 8th for Horner, though the diference was minute)
