This seems like a pretty exciting ITT. Hilly, and it is the same one that will be used in july during the TdF. This seems like the start of the true GC contenders. With this long of a TT, big gaps can open up between the GC contenders.

Will Gesink lose more time here?
Favorites? Vino, Evans, Martin, Millar?

Jani or Cadel. It is a tough course.

Nah, the more I look at it, I think it's deceptively easy.

Two five minute sections of pushing very very hard, but long sections of 2% or more decline, where a good position and 200Watts will have you going as quick as anyone else.

I hope everyone's on form, as I'm ready and willing to believe anyone significantly underperforming is just flat out stupid. There will certainly be people cocking up their pacing.

Yeah you are probably right.

It has similarities with Albi 2007 except the climbs were tougher. Shall we see a rematch between Vino and Evans? :D

According to that profile, there's a 1.5km section that averages 11%?
Looks like a decent course they have come up with for Le Tour.

If google earth is correct the profile is completely wrong. Belmont is approximately 546 meters above sea level and Valnaveys at 350-360 meters. And the climb seems to be something like 3km @5,5-6% and the last part is the steepest 1,5km @ 8,5-9%

Millar? Pay attention.

I'd love to see Wiggo take the stage and the jersey. Evans and Vino will go well, Martin and Gesink could show up or could suck.

Can only see Brad Wiggins in the leaders jersey after tomorrow. He's clearly on good form as last week at Bayern Rundfarht showed.

Just checked CQ ranking for ITT's this year for the top contenders when they've raced together:
Paris Nice (27km)- Wiggins 2nd, Vino 1m9s behind, Brajkovic @1m11s, Roche @ 2m47s.
Romandie (20.1km)- Wiggins 4th, Evans @37s, Vino @56s, Brajkovic @ 1m2s, Roche @ 1m58s.

At the TDF last year Wiggins put nearly 2 minutes into Vino over 52km, over 3mins on Roche and 3.5mins on Brajkovic.

Therefore, I can't see past Wiggins for the leaders jersey at worst and he must have a great chance of the win. Of the overall contenders, I can only see Evans challenging him tomorrow.

Iagree with the assessment, except for the TDF last year. When Wiggins rode his TT was much earlier then Vino and Roche did, when the winds had picked up.

Considering Vino hasn't done as well in TT this year as years past, I say Vino will come in abbut 55-75 seconds behind Wiggins.

I See Zabriskie and Wiggins battling out with Martin in the hunt. Only reason why I don't make Martin a favorite is he hasn't shown anything so far in the Duaphine to suggest he is near descent form.

this course is tailor-made for a power rider like vino. having shown good legs in the prologue, i'm giving him the 1st spot. i also feel he's striving to redeem himself for a relatively poor tt-ing all year....

then evans, well, evans may even jump over vino. he looks very sharp to me.

wiggo, z, martin certainly capable of winning too.

would love to see bobby in the top 10.
