I believe that allowance is inplace for teammates well down in the standings where the start interval is much less, and far less eyes are on the two riders.

But Garmin, Cofidis, Europcar, and Liquigas all have riders next to another in the GC. Goose and gander you know...

Yes. Also I made an error in the order. If the race officials invoke this rule Andy still start last, but Evans would start before Frank, thus Evans would start 3 mins ahead of AS.

Tomorrow will be epic. Evans and Andy Schleck have both got to be really tanked after the last two days. What have they got left? We'll see.

All those guys started earlier in the day when there was no head wind. If you look at the final times of the Top 20 GC, Menchov was the only rider to crack the top 30 on the stage. o'Grady took 1'30" on Contador in that TT, so that should be a good example of it being the exception

Besides the obvious reason of adding excitement, it's another good reason to be glad the start times are in order of GC ranking. Everyone with a shot at victory will face the same conditions.

This vegetarian stage is becoming quite entertaining:

-TV is in front of Contador at the GC
-Cadle attacked more than once, and only had one problem on his bike (there's still the TT, but let's hope for the best)
-TV was in yellow for a week or so and in the end he's not the best French in the race
-And the Italians are steadly becoming the new French at least in the past they still had Bettini, these days not even a Voeckler.

Hope that Cadel wins tomorrow his been the strongest rider so far, and that the brothers will go separate teams next year

Because he is old and they have lots of young GC riders.

Gesink was unlucky this year, but still 6th in 2010. He will come back. And there's Kruijswijk, Mollema, etcetera... plenty of future

Future, but look Menchov will quit cycling in the end of 2013 IMO. I can`t see Mollema and Kruijswijk doing better then him in next years Tour, and they would have a super team in 2013.

But now they have one year with nothing, Gesink was never going to win this Tour. And next years in question too.

Menchov was never going to win the Tour either.
Gesink has the potential to end on a podium in a GT. This year it didn't work obviously. Menchov failed on lots of occasions as well.
Besides that Rabobank prefers dutch riders so if there is a dutch rider with the potential of being an leader for GT's then they give that dutch rider the advantage.

2010 Menchov would have won this Tour.

For the overall win, i hope for evans or andy they are the guys who deserve the win (even thow i like frank more then andy as a person)

Evans have truely put a lof of heart and effort into taking the Tour-win and same goes for Andy. ! (dont care wich of them win it)

Contador allways like the way he rides, and seems like the most talented rider of the bunch and appreciate all that he had bring to the table anno touren 2011..

also missed Rasmussen, he and contador give me one hell of a fight in 2007.

And with heavy heart that my nowvergian fellow in norway today are being blowed up.(wauue sick people those who think there God apreciate that)

Will newer understand such people, no doubt that such people literrally have been skull & brain-f-ucked at child birth..

Freedom of expression will allways be one of the most importents factors in a healthy democrazy..

My toughts goes to Noway..! :(

I doubt that, don't underestimate Menchovs ability to **** up, in the Tour de France.

He is a killer in the Giro and Vuelta but not in the Tour. He would lose time in the descents of Pinerolo and Gap, he would probably blow somewhere in the last 2 stages :)

I think it did. If you take away the 2 minutes he lost on screwjob weekend you have Contador 2.30 down going into the tt.

And as a whole contador would have played a much safer race. He would never have been out of it, and he would be a lot fresher for Galibier, and he would not have attacked 90k out today.

Well, if you start playing that game, there are a lot of scenarios that change. When did he lose 2 minutes, though? He lost 1:14 on the first stage... I guess he lost about 25 seconds in the TTT, but it's hard to see how that could be considered a screwjob, he just had a slower time.

Either way, if that happens and he has a more conservative race, then he wouldn't have attacked on the rainy cat 2 day and Andy wouldn't have lost 1:09; and maybe Andy would have attacked harder in the Pyrenees if he didn't feel he had a buffer over Contador and if Contador wasn't in good shape he would have lost 2 minutes, plus everyone else and the Tour would be decided already.

Or maybe if Contador hadn't lost time in the first stage, everyone wouldn't have been so freaked out about being in the front and so the crashes that took out Wiggins, Horner VdB2 and Vino wouldn't have happened. Who knows.

As it stands, I'm glad he lost time in the first week, I'm glad he was tired from the Giro, and I'm glad Andy lost that time on the descent. It's rare that the strongest riders are on the back foot in the Tour. I'd rather have the last 2 days of racing than have the 2 of them romp away from everyone on the first mountain stage and then trackstand duel with each other the rest of the way. I admire both of them alot more this year than I did last year, Contador for going for the Giro-Tour (and for today), Andy for yesterday.
