Contador and Andy Schleck are doing a hell of a lot of work for a 20 second gap.

No more so then Evans is keeping it at 20 (well 30 now) seconds.

Guys putting out a ton of effort. Someone is going to pay big time when they get to the finish.

Rider tracker now working on the iPad. Cool.

Is Roche in the MJ group? Didn't see him.

I think he was dropped pretty early, was in the picture some time ago. Unless he made it back (I doubt it though)

At 20 seconds (probably less by then) he woiuld be able to attack anyway.

Yeah probably.

Perfect scenario: Sanchez wins stage + polka dots, Evans doesn't lose too much to Frank, Andy loses time to Evans.

Well, if catches them and manages to finish with the Schlecks at the top of Alp d'Huez, Cadel will have earned not just huge praise, but the title. (hopefully)

Any number of riders could completely get shelled on the Alpe. Even Contador. Any of them actually. this is incredible racing. Just incredible.

I actually expect Contador to crack first. He kicked off the festivities and didn't look great going over the top of Galibert.

This morning's Versus pre-race show had a short piece with Craig Hummer. He relayed his conversation with Bjarne Riis who told him that Contador really wants a win on Alpe d'Huez. He wants to leave his mark on history. He's riding for himself on this one and is unlikely to give anyone else the stage.

Good point. You'd think he'd have more help. He has a larger group and for the riders with him, it's got to be easier than what the leaders are doing right now.
