A quick recap. Leading the stage on the descent of the Galibier with one climb to come: Alberto Contador, Andy Schleck, Rui Faria Da Costa and Christophe Riblon. Behind and chomping into their lead at a rate of knots quickly: Samuel Sanchez, who is probably riding for the stage win and king of the mountains points, as he's too far off the pace on GC to win the Tour. Is it conceivable he might conspire with his compatriot Alberto Contador? Twenty seconds behind Sanchez: Cadel Evans, Pierre Rolland, Arnold Jeannesson, Damiano Cunego, Ryder Hesjedal, Tom Danielson and Frank Schleck. Behind them: Yellow jersey Thomas Voeckler and assorted others, who are 1min 50sec behind the lead group.

Where the hell have you been? Contador attacked after 16 kilometers and the rest will be cycling-history no matter what happens.

14 riders were out in the lead.

Conti attacks from 16k out

followed initially by Andy, Evans Voeckler, but Evans got a mechanical or blew himsel up a bit, and voeckler dropped with Evans and sat in between the chasing peloton with Basso/Cunego (~40 riders) and later Evans again.

Contiand Andy get to the lead and drop all of them minus Rui costa and AG2R guy.

Samu attack from shattered groups because bmc put on the chase for Evans in the peloton and bridges to the lead where conti andy are.

Contador, following by Andy, Evans, TV. Then Evand had a mecanichal (??) and TV exploded.

Someone will no doubt beat me to it but, Contador attacked both Schleck's, Evans and Tommy V followed, Frank let go 1st the Evans and TV went, Frank is now with Evans.

With Samu I think the front group is at least as strong as the Evans group. I just hope they wont catch the Contador group, and then the d'Huez could be a great MTF.

I have a feeling the finishing order will be similar to the Galibier yesterday. 3rd climb will be carnage.

Contador attackt at the foot of the Telegraphe. Andy could follow him, Voeckler couldn't and struggeld a long time on his own on the Galibier before getting cought and passed. Evans had a mechanical so he dropped back from Andy and Contador at the Telegraphe.

The best thing about yesterday and today is that it shows that cool riding actually is a applicable tactic.

I think it helped Evans because Contador would have kept trying to drop him until he cracked.

I agree. If Cadel reaches the group before the climb and stays with them, he deserves to win the Tour. But, I think we are giving hims ITT skills too much credit.
